The Dried Cracked Ground! I am Land Pollution Minister Yogostein!
~ Yogostein's catchphrase when he enters into battle.
That wasn't the Human World's... but Yogostein's last day!!!
~ Yogostein's final words before his death.

Land Pollution Minister Yogostein, whose true name is Baron Yogorex de Stein, is one of the three Pollution Ministers of the Banki Clan Gaiark and the secondary antagonist of Engine Sentai Go-Onger.

He is the son of the Crime Minister Yogoshimacritein and is the high-ranking golden-armored general of Gaiark. He was the leader of Gaiark, during the absence of the Gaiark leaders, Pollution President Batcheed and his father Yogoshimacritein and led the Gaiark against Go-Ongers. He led the land-based Barbaric Machine Beasts against Go-Ongers. He wields the Yogospear in battle and ends his sentences with "Nari".

He was the Go-Ongers' archenemy and their most powerful and dangerous enemy during the first half of the season. He was especially Sosuke's archenemy during the bigger part of the season. He was the secondary antagonist of the original series, serving as the primary enemy of Go-Ongers. He served as the main antagonist for its first half. He also served as the supporting protagonist of the V-Cinema movies Shinkenger vs. Go-Onger, Gokaiger vs. Gavan and Engine Sentai Go-Onger: 10 Years Grand Prix.

He was voiced by the late Kiyoyuki Yanada, who also previously voiced Tau Zant and later voiced his father Yogoshimacritein.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He and Gaiark polluted and destroyed multiple Braneworlds, which were home of the Engines, killing countless innocent beings and leaving Engines homeless.
  • He tried to destroy Tokyo and kill the Go-Ongers multiple times by sending his monsters Banki Beasts to the city.
  • In his finale appearances of the season, he summoned the gigantic Banki Beast called Horonderthal and attacked Tokyo again in order to get rid of Go-Ongers forever.
  • He fought Sosuke in his penultimate appearance and infected him with the special device from Horonderthal body, which nearly killed Sosuke by transforming Go-On Red into the iron statue. And while Sosuke was later revived after Yogostein's death, this was still one of Go-Ongers most traumatic and painful moments because they thought Sosuke died and they lost their friend forever.
  • He became much more sadistic and villainous in his final appearances, starting insulting and humiliating Go-Ongers sadistically, and abusing them physically and mentally and battle with him was one of the Go-Ongers's most hard and traumatic battles.
  • He tried to kill the Go-Ongers and stole their morphers, leaving them powerless and helpless against him, while also sadistically laughing and insulting the young heroes.
  • He joined the Horonderthal upgrades to his body and attacked Tokyo, using his new powers to nearly destroy the city and transform countless innocent people into the iron statues.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has far too many redeeming qualities, being far too kind, compassionate and honorable and eventually redeems himself. And for this reason, Yogostein can't qualify as PE or NPE.
  • Despite his villainous and arrogant nature, he is still a good leader for Gaiark, treating his fellow robots like equals, praising and rewarding them and mourning them as well. He genuinely cared about Hiramechimedes, treating and respecting him as equal and genuinely mourned his death. He also genuinely cares about Kitaneidas and Kegalesia and is a best friends with them.
  • He is honorable, preferring to fight fairly and without cheating and deception.
  • While because of his atrocious crimes and sadistic abuse of the human beings and his defeat was played like a well-deserved karma, his death was still played for sympathy because his comrades Kitaneidas and Kegalesia and all of Gaiark mourned his death at the hands of Sosuke.
  • He eventually redeemed himself by helping the Go-Ongers after his revival by helping them save the Earth from evil threats like Pollution President Batcheed and Eleki Clan Zontark.

Trivia[]

  • He is the first and currently the only Inconsistently Heinous in Engine Sentai Go-Onger series.
