Ymir Fritz, also known as the Founder, is the overarching protagonist of the Attack on Titan franchise.

She was the first person to be able to transform into a Titan, as the one who gained the original Power of the Titans roughly around 2,000 years prior to the events of the first chapter and season. She was a slave and concubine to King Fritz, who abused her and used her as a weapon to build the Eldian Empire, defeat his enemies, and conquer most of the world.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

  • She helped King Fritz build the Eldian Empire, killing and enslaving entire nations with her power. Her choice to aid Eldia's atrocities led to Eldia's prolonged abuse of power, which ended up causing the world's hatred, fear and discriminations against Eldia's descendants.
  • Saved King Fritz, which indirectly caused him to pass down her power to future generations, thus causing the existence of the Subjects of Ymir every event in the story.
  • Created Titans for anyone who called upon her power, which was repeatedly abused against humanity. Despite her supposed bound to Eldia's royal family, she inexplicably built the Titans for Marley for over a century.
  • Gave Eren Yeager the power of the Founder, which makes her responsible for 80 percent of the world being rumbled.
    • This despite the fact it was Eldia who ruined her life and killed her parents, and Karl Fritz even forced her to build tens of millions of Colossal Titans to create the Walls, while Marley and the rest of the world never did anything to her, in fact she is the one who helped Fritz to hurt and destroy other cultures. Ironically, despite Eren's claims to end what Fritz wanted to continue, the Rumbling was still about to give Fritz what he desired the most; his progeny, the Subjects of Ymir ruling the world, still marking his greater influence over everything.
  • Summoned many previous inheritors of the Nine Titans to try and kill the Marley-Survey Corps alliance, plus kidnapping Armin and trapping him in the Paths.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She's way too tragic to be PE or NPE, given that her parents and village were slaughtered by the Eldian tribe, she got her tongue removed, was forced to become a slave, had one eye gouged out, and was hunted for sport. After she got the power of the Titans and returned to the Eldians, she was forced to become Fritz's concubine and bear his children, and even then he still treated her poorly.
  • She was a scapegoat for King Fritz who was the one really in control, making her the wicked devil ruler of Eldia in the eyes of the world.
  • She genuinely loved King Fritz despite his poor treatment, which drove her to save him from being stabbed by a Marleyan soldier and her listening to members of the royal family.
  • She still built the Titans for the Marleyan Warriors and Armin, when they needed them to stop the Rumbling and kill Eren, and she did not interfer when Zeke liberated the souls of a group of deceased Titan Shifters from Marley from Eren's control, in order to have them aid the alliance against the Rumbling.
  • Despite Eren encouraging her to ignore Zeke's orders from royal blood, she still did not allow him to continue using the Rumbling without Zeke. After Zeke sacrificed himself, Ymir did not grant Eren the ability to continue the Rumbling, thus putting an end to his attempt to destroy humanity.
  • Ultimately redeems herself after seeing Mikasa kill Eren, which makes her let go of her love for Fritz and get rid of the Coordinate and the whole power of the Titans for good, which returns all living Pure Titans in the world back to normal, as well as removing the curse of 13 years of life from holders of the Nine Titans.
