William Afton is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's fangame known as Super FNaF.
He was the owner of Fredbear's Family Diner back in the 80s who ran it along with his business partner Henry, he was assigned to work for concepts and designs for a next line of robots but unknown to Henry, William had been paid by a company to add child abducting mechanisms to the animatronics to do experiments.
One day, Elizabeth who was William's daughter happened to get close to Circus Baby, but the robot was not made to contain children inside and ended up horribly wounding Elizabeth where she died later in the hospital, leaving Afton devastated, later the same month Afton's adopted son died due to Fredbear crushing his skull.
Driven by his grief, William decided that if he couldn't have children, then other parents should suffer the same fate and became a child murderer.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He would stab a child by the name of Sammy who would later go on to possess the Puppet after death and leave him on the ground bleeding before driving away.
- He was a sadistic child murderer who lured the five children with a Springbonnie suit to a room to murdered them, it's later shown in a cutscene that after murdering them he stuffed them in animatronic suits and outright laughed admiring his work.
- It was also shown that the girl who possessed Chica, Amanda, pleaded to be spared in exchange she will remain silent but he rejected that offer and killed her while she is crying.
- When noticing there was one child left who he taunted and toyed around with sadistically until the child unintentionally fell into a Golden Freddy suit and died instantly.
- His actions are so severe that the mother of one of the victims commits suicide.
- Even before being a child murderer and losing his children, he was secretly doing experiments by abducting children with the Funtime Animatronics he hijacked with child abducting features so it doesn't justify his actions at all, neither does taking away innocent children's lives of other parents and throwing out his wrath on innocents, thus his tragedy falls short.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Unlike his canon counterpart, this version of Afton genuinely cared about Elizabeth and the Crying Child and their deaths are the main reason he became a child serial killer in the first place, this care is also never subverted in any way.
- After re-animating into Springtrap, he felt extremely remorseful of what he has done and considered if this was what he wanted. When he finds Puppet/Sammy, he ultimately asks for forgiveness, this makes him too remorseful in any outcome to be NPE.
