Vernon Schillinger is The main Antagonist of Prison Series Oz. He is the incredibly cruel, hateful and sadistic leader of the Aryan Gang who terrorized other prisoners out of sheer boredom.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Torments Beecher when he first enters prison, raping him, burning a swastika onto his butt, forcing him to eat pages out of a lawbook and attempting to set him up to be killed by the black inmates after he grows tired of him.
  • Attempts to blackmail CO Dianne Wittlesy into murdering Beecher for him.
  • Had Jewish inmate Alexander Vogel murdered to restore the brotherhood's reputation and coerces Richie Hanlon into taking the fall which gets him put on Death Row.
  • Orchestrates a plot to make Beecher fall in love with his ally Chris Keller which ends in he and Keller breaking Beecher's legs.
  • Rapes Ryan O'Reily's mentally challenged brother Cyril and takes joy in taunting the brothers about it.
  • When his son Andrew ends up in Solitary Schillinger arranges for drugs to be brought to him, knowing he'll die of a overdose and justifying it to himself as a mercy killing.
  • When he finds out that Beecher arranged for his son Hank to visit him he becomes convinced that Beecher is plotting against him and has Hank kidnap his two children Gary and Holly and kill Gary out of spite. He also manipulated Beecher into thinking Keller was responsible which leads to Beecher making an attempt on Keller's life.
  • Sends a letter to Carl Jenkins in Solitary which drives him to suicide after Carl implicates James Robson in the murder of Leroy Tidd.
  • Turns Adam Guenzel and Franklin Wintrhop into his sex slaves and sets the former up to be killed after he becomes worried he might rat.
  • Accepts Winthrop's offer to kill Beecher in exchange for membership into the brotherhood.
  • Plots with Keller to kill Beecher during a prison production of MacBeth, only failing in his efforts because Keller sabotages him.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He loves his two sons Andrew and Hank. Though this is somewhat subverted by his involvement in Andrew's death he does still mourn him and his care for Hank is never subverted.
  • He has some standards with his disgust at a pedophile priest and agreeing to protect Augustus Hill from Malcolm Coyle out of respect for the fact that the father of the family Could killed died in Vietnam.
  • When Father Mukada makes him see Beecher had good intentions when he reunited him with Hank Schillinger feels some regret for his actions and orders Hank to let Holly go unharmed.
  • Has a few "Pet the Dog" moments.
    • Contributes to the fund for Bob Rebadow's sick grandson to go to Disneyworld.
    • Lets Cloutier off with a warning after he gets Jenkins to implicate Robson out of appreciation for his past kindness.
    • Doesn't interfere with Beecher's parole out of gratitude to him for saving his hero Wilson Lowen.
  • He's supportive of his daughter-in-law Carrie throughout her pregnancy and loves his grandaughter.
