While they share histories together they are completely separate versions as this version had more adventures than USA Cartoon Megatron as the events of Rebirth was ignored and went with the Headmasters Anime instead where many more stories would be told in many Anime, tie-in Mangas and etc. Alternity is not being factored in since it is a separate timeline and thus it's version Megatron is a seperate version from this Megatron. So only information from Megatron in the main Japanese Generation One Continuity will be included in this proposal here. |
I know G1 Cartoon Megatron was recently voted out of this wiki and into Pure Evil Wiki but Japanese Generation G1 Megatron come from a separate near identical universe with the same history up to the events of the Return of Optimus Prime diverges from it and has actual enough preventions able to qualify as Inconsistently Heinous which I will get into here.
What the work?
The Japanese Generation G1 continuity is continuation of the Generation One continuity where various Manga, Anime like Headmasters, Master-Force, Victory, Zone, Story pages, online manga, toy-bios, and etc.
Who is the character?
He is pretty much the same as his G1 Cartoon counterpart with expanded story and lore. He is the Leader of the Decepticonns and arch enemy of Optimus Prime but unlike his American Cartoon self he makes amends and make peace with his archenemy and builds a better future here.
Heinous Standard
The Japanese G1 Continuity have a very high jacked up heinous standard due to planets being destroyed an a daily basis, dimensional travel stuff and etc but Megatron passes it very easily (which I will state below) in Heinous Acts.
Heinous Acts
He did a lot of them so I will only cover his worse acts here since he got a bajillion of them in here.
In General
He committed the exact same crimes as his American Cartoon counterpart up to the events of Season 3 before the timeline branches off as it ignore the events of Rebirth (Though it is later depicted as a separate universe in the Legends Manga when those characters dimension jump to the Japanese G1 Universe briefly). Plus Beast Era too since Beast Wars Cartoon is canon to it’s continuity.
Robotmasters
In between Season 3 and the Movie after Megatron nearly got killed and used his Black Hole powers to escape a unstable spacebridge he possessed the Autobot Reverse Convoy and used his body to do evil deeds. He even used it to fool the Autobots into gaining his trust before turning on them where they caused damage in Tokyo together.
Kiss Players & 15 Go Go
As Galvatron he pretty much nuked Tokyo when he crashed into it when Rodimus Prime tossed him from the Transformers: The Movie which caused millions to die, while Galvatron didn’t intend to do it but he felt zero remorse for it so it counts. And it nearly destroyed relationship of the Humans and Autobots, also had it’s main antagonist (besides him) Hitoshizuku Amaō become a villain since that event killed her daughter Hitoshizuku Amaō making him responsible for her decent into villainy to go through the trouble of doing immoral things to revive her daughter.
Later on he gets pulled to an random point in time where he attempt to kill two android girls which they are very sapient and very human like with him ripping one of their arms off with ease.
Transformers Headmasters
As Galvatron he as responsible for having Scorponok for blowing up Mars. He made a fake truce to the Autobots by having Sixshot pose as him while he do an attack. He also enslaved multiple alien races in numerous episodes that would take too long to list.
He attempted to turn Earth into his new body dubbed Grand Galvatron and was gonna sacrifice Sixshot and likely all of his Decepticons for it and likely kill all of Earth’s population.
He doesn't do anything in Masterforce, Victory, or Zone since he was killed and put on ice. Although he did appear in Masterforce vs. Headmasters manga in a continuity error as Super Megatron where he attempts to help out the Decepticons of the Masterforce series out and do lots of damage.
Battlestars
As Super Megatron to bite a human as an snack out of sadism and hunger.
Aided Dark Nova's Evil deeds for universe conquest and attempting to destroy the Autobots.
G2
Restarted the Great War and dissolved the Cybetron Alliance where he would lead many numerous battles. He would nearly kill Optimus Prime brutally.
Not much for this part since Galvatron II (From Marvel US Comics) disposed him as leader and demoted him briefly.
Legends
Attempted to take over the Legends World by using his popularity as a fictional character to become ceo of Tera-Kura Co. (A fictional parody of Takara) with his many schemes before he gave up on it.
He also did many crimes set in between the events of the G1 Cartoon's events or the previous aforementions shows and media in this continuity.
Selects
In between Season an Headmasters as Galvatron he tricked the Seacons and Pirate Seacons into giving him Star Power to become Super Megatron.
He killed nearly every member of Primus Vangard save for Purple Wicked Convoy and Red Sentinel Prime to obtain their Star Matrixes.
He made Optimus Prime give up the Silver Matrix by threatening to bite into a beast humaniod alien to obtain her beast power in it's place.
He attempted to reshape the entire Multiverse merging all universes as well as the past present and future into one for him to rule, only failed thanks to being foiled by a different version of himself in the future and Optimus Prime.
Future Megatron in 2030 drove humanity from Earth and turn it into Gaia where it would kickstart the events of Beast Wars II and Neo.
Overall
Despite how jacked up the heinous standard is here, Megatron stands out for being responsible for the Great War in the first, his numerous crimes and his worst acts of driving humanity from Earth and nearly destroying & recreating the Multiverse in his image is enough to pass it's massive jacked up heinous standard.
What makes him Inconsistent?
Unlike US G1 Cartoon Megatron who got zero, this version of him has many redeeming qualities that disqualify him from being NPE as:
He redeems himself to form the Cybertontian Alliance though he broke it up in G2, he eventually redeemed again in the Legends Manga where hs try to make himself a better person after giving up on taking over the Legends World and defend it. He even reformed the Cybertorian Alliance by the end of the Legends Manga he redeems himself entirely to reform the Cybetron Alliance where they and Optimus would do noble things together. While did turn evil again in Selects in the 2030's he was influenced which basically moral agency issues. Even before redeeming himself his evil acts genuine extremism in various manga. The 2030 Megatron would even stop his past 2010 Super Megatron from merging the entire Multiverse, and all of time and space into a single universe to rule. There he would protect the Predecessor World from harm in his final days. He would do enough heroic acts to even qualify as an Inconsistently Admirable which shows his redemption here.
He also had some instances where he suffered from moral agency issues as in Legends stories where some villains ended up turning him when he was an good Megatron in the Manga evil by amplifying his negative qualities to turn him evil like an Chibi Tarantulas made a Galvatron body for an Headmaster body for an Headmaster Megatron who when he attached his head to his head form to the body and turned him back into Galvatron and go on a rampage, Mindwipe also hypnotized him to do it again, Devil Z too by mind controlling him and later on when Unicron's energy corrupted him into Megatron Omega: Perfect where he drove humanity out before Lio Convoy cleansed him.
He able to make friendships as he was enraged when his close friend Kiloton was killed by Russian soldiers that kickstarted the G2 Wars meaning he cared for him well. He also deeply cared for the Legend World Inhabitants as he cared for his Beast Wars counterpart and Predacons of Tera-Kura Co Company in the Legends World and the Armada Megatron who also appeared too as well.
Verdict
Despite the high heinous standard Megatron passes for him starting the Great War and nearly destroying the entire multiverse and remake it into a single universe makes him able to pass the Japanese Generation One Continuity's massive heinous standard but can't be Pure Evil like his USA Cartoon version or even an Near Pure Evil due his redemption, genuine friendships, genuine extremism and redemption where he did enough heroic acts to be an IA.
