Susan "Susie" Campbell, better known as Alice Angel or by her fan nickname Twisted Alice, is the secondary antagonist of the Bendy franchise.
Once a human that voiced a cartoon character, she was forcibly transformed into the very being she was voicing as part of Joey Drew's experiment to bring his cartoons back to life with the help of the Ink Machine. Her main goal is to become beautiful by using the insides of various ink creatures to fix herself and avoid ever returning to her previous form, which she describes as a "shapeless slug".
She was voiced by Lauren Synger.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
In-general[]
- She kills multiple clones of the Butcher Gang and Boris the Wolf to make herself beautiful. Even if the former could be justified due to their hostility, the Boris clones remain unexplained whilst she would kill them anyway.
- It's implied she eats the insides of the dead ink creatures as a way to make herself beautiful.
- Before Henry enters the workshop, she tries to lure Buddy Boris to his demise by pretending to be a girl called Milla Legna that wants to be saved by someone, although this ends up failing.
- While exhibiting traits of a split personality (alternating between Susie and Alice Angel), which could potentially lead to moral agency issues—particularly when changing her voice or even conversing with herself, at times referencing riddles—she demonstrates a clear understanding of right and wrong. This is evident, especially when she falsely allies with Henry, driven by purely pragmatic reasons.
- Even as Alice Angel claims she was forced to commit her crimes by "her," she previously speaks of her victims and their purposes with a chilling lack of remorse. This behavior suggests she seeks to either justify her actions falsely or to assert that her beauty holds greater value than the lives of others.
Bendy and the Ink Machine[]
- Defeated Piper for trying to kill her, she'd then use him to extend electricity in her own lair, giving him never ending torturous state and fate worse than death.
- Makes Henry do several tasks for her and had him murder two innocent Swollen Ones, whilist threatening to kill him if he fails her and warns him about her potential rethinking of her decision.
- Forces Henry to do a useless task for her that puts him in danger where she tricks him into destroying Bendy cutouts and waits until after he does it to warn him that Bendy hates it when his cutouts are destroyed, knowing fully well that this action could have gotten Henry killed.
- Crashes the elevator in hopes of killing Henry so she can take Buddy Boris after Henry finishes her tasks despite promising Henry she would let him go.
- After kidnapping Boris, she would not murder him but rip out his insides, and later mutates him into a monstrous creature called Brute Boris that does what she tells him to do. It's also said that Boris is in constant pain as well.
- Ordered Brute Boris to kill Henry, then after he is killed by Henry, she tries to kill him by herself before being stabbed by Allison Angel.
Bendy and the Dark Revival[]
- Kidnapped Audrey Drew and six Lost Ones and forced the former to play a sadistic riddles game where Audrey would be electrocuted if she got the answer wrong, and the Lost Ones would be electrocuted if she got the answer right.
- She sent her her group of Lost Ones after Audrey once she wins the game. Overall, the behavior of the six ink creatures implies they were tortured into serving her.
- Once the Lost Ones are killed, she attacks Audrey with a Tommy gun.
- Wanted Audrey's insides so she could become more beautiful, with heavy implications she would eat them.
- She admits that if she has enough power, she is willing to destroy the entire Cycle to become beautiful again.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is way too sympathetic to be Near Pure Evil, much less Pure Evil.
- When she was still a human, she was a down on her luck voice actor who was gonna be replaced by another actress, and was tricked by Joey Drew into thinking she will get a second chance when in reality, he would turn her into an ink creature that he continues to deceive with false promises and at the end fully abandoned her.
- Her obsession with becoming the perfect replica of Alice Angel stems from a deep-seated need for appreciation she’s never truly received. In her view, Alice was universally adored and admired, no matter how much Joey’s influence shaped people’s perceptions. She later refers to her former human self as if it were someone else entirely, exposing her own self-loathing and disconnect from her past identity.
- Her death was portrayed in sympathetic tone in Bendy and the Dark Revival, where Allison holds her in her arms after stabbing her. In a somber tone, Alice claims that Allison has her face. Allison, showing empathy, calls it "theirs" and acknowledges Alice's beauty. With this, Alice takes her final, sorrowful breath.
- She seems to be in love with Sammy Lawrence, calling him a handsome man, reminiscing of the time he told her Alice might be as popular as Bendy, and an audio recording revealing she was jealous when she saw him talking with Allison Pendle.
Trivia[]
- She is one of the two Bendy villains to be Inconsistently Heinous along with Joey Drew.
- Both her and Joey used to be Near Pure Evil until the release of Bendy and the Dark Revival, where she received more sympathetic traits while others were noticed in the first game she debuted, while Joey was shown to have redeemed himself.
