Buggs: What do you want dweeb? I'm not giving you your money back. Get out of here before I squish you.

Protagonist: Squishing me won't make your dad come back.
Buggs: My dad will come back! He just went to the store to get some cigarettes is all! Get out of here, or I'll beat you so hard it'll make him proud!
Protagonist: He'll never be proud of you.
Buggs: Yes he will! If you don't leave right now, I'll kill you!
Protagonist: Dying wouldn't be so bad.

~ The Protagonist's infamous exchange with Buggs, tricking him into a fight so Ms. Applegate will send him to the Principal's office

The Protagonist is, as his name suggests, the main protagonist of the Kindergarten video game duology, who the player controls in order to complete various missions.

His Evil Ranking[]

Debated Validations[]

  • While The Protagonist could be seen as redeeming himself by stopping The Principal at the end of Kindergarten 2, it's canon ending has not been confirmed yet, and it is debateable if The Protagonist has truly made up for all the heinous crimes he has committed along the duology, such as helping Cindy drive Lily to suicide, murdering his whole class for his own benefit, helping The Janitor kill Bob, and killing many of the other characters in brutal ways, such as tricking Cindy into killing herself via electricity, decapitating Penny with a magnet, and giving Ozzy an asthma attack, causing him to suffocate to death without his inhaler.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Helped Cindy bully Lily, which ultimately drove her to suicide in Cindy's mission.
  • Eliminated every student in the first Kindergarten at the request of Ms. Applegate in her mission.
  • Killed Ms. Applegate with the help of Buggs in his mission.
  • Killed Buggs at the command of Nugget in both his and Ms. Applegate's mission, both of the times being for his own benefit.
  • Helped The Janitor kill Bob in his mission for an extremely petty reason (although he felt remorse for this, even if he was willing to still help The Janitor get away with the murder).
  • Tricked Cindy into killing herself by sticking a fork in the electrical outlet in Ted's mission.
  • Took away Ozzy's inhaler, causing him to suffocate to death in Ted's mission.
  • Unscrewed Monty's wheelchair in Ted's mission, just to get assistance from Carla, despite her motive being petty.
  • Brutally decapitated Penny with the use of a giant magnet in Buggs' mission, all to get Buggs's knife back which he shouldn't have had in the first place.
  • Helped Felix/Ted kill their brother in Felix's mission, with the method being buried alive with spiders, making it a brutal murder.
  • Allowed Ms. Applegate to scalp Nugget in her mission, with Nugget getting injured and psychological damage after this.
  • Got Billy and Lily killed and even if it wasn't on purpose, he still showed no remorse for it, and even took the opportunity to take some of Billy's hair.
  • Killed Dr. Danner by placing a bomb under the table in the teacher's lounge.
  • Killed Ms. Applegate by stabbing her in a similar way to Buggs' mission in the first game.
  • While most of his acts consist of following orders given to him by other characters, he still manages to stand out due to being crucial to the success of these plans.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is On & Off as he plays a heroic role in missions such as Creature Feature where he saves the school from the tyrannical principal.
  • As with most characters in Kindergarten, his worst actions are often almost always played for black comedy.
  • He appears to have standards, as he will end the day if you force him to microwave the cat, and shows some disgust at Nugget for killing the entire school for no reason.
  • He's affable to those he helps, notably Nugget, treating him well often and becoming his friend after the events of the first game.
  • He did show remorse over helping the janitor kill Bob, calling himself a monster.

Trivia[]

  • The Protagonist, alongside Nugget, are the two Inconsistently Heinous Kindergarten characters to also be Inconsistently Admirable.
