More appearances of the Man with the Upside-Down Face. A New Year’s Eve party at an Air Force base in 1943 where a man was fatally injured, a car accident in 1948 and a disastrous train accident in 1951. It’s interesting to note that no matter how close he gets to other bystanders, no one has ever recalled seeing him at the time. It’s only in the photos after the fact that he’s seen.
~ A Tumblr caption about the Man with the Upside-Down Face.

The Man with the Upside-Down Face, also known as the Upside-Down Man or simply the Man, is a monster and urban legend created by Canadian horror artist Trevor Henderson. He is a ruthless entity who loves causing pain and death in order to feed off the negative emotions of others for his own personal enjoyment.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Throughout the 1910s to the 1960s, or possibly even onward, the Man with the Upside-Down Face had appeared in places where a tragic event had occurred, mainly to feed off of negative emotions such as pain, misery and suffering. Considering how he even occasionally appeared before said tragic events happened, it was heavily implied he indirectly caused every tragedy he was sighted at, influencing several factors to lead into them at best.
  • The man was incredibly sadistic throughout the history of the mythos, getting enjoyment out of people's suffering and feeding off of it. Furthermore, his physical form was claimed to only exist to torment humanity, meaning he could be a Lovecraftian force that manifested the body in particular just to feed off of people's pain more easily.
  • Overall, the Man with the Upside-Down Face had proven to be one of the most dangerous and evil monsters Trevor had created, alongside Cartoon Cat.
  • While there had been Lovecraftian monsters in the Trevor Henderson mythos before, Long Horse had proven to be a benevolent force, meaning that monsters like the Man with the Upside-Down Face were not entirely mindless and were capable of being heinous by their own volition.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • As heinous as his actions were, they were not set within a consistent storyline, and like other monsters made by Trevor Henderson, this made him too mysterious to qualify as NPE or PE.
  • He lacked characterization as he only appeared through photographs, and his information and personality were barely shown.

Trivia[]

  • The Man with the Upside-Down Face is currently the only Trevor Henderson monster to be Inconsistently Heinous.
