| “ | Tenshi: On the ground, humans and youkai battle... I've been longing to fight a battle like that! Youmu: Did, did you go slay phantoms, slice the temperaments of humans, and destroy the shrine just for that? Tenshi: Of course I did! In fact... There'll be bigger earthquakes after this! Do you find anything wrong with that? Youmu: I'm starting to get angry. Tenshi: Yes, get angry! Because if you don't punish me, Gensokyo shall be no more! |

Tenshi Hinanawi is a supporting character from Touhou Project, being the main antagonist of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.
Born as a human named Chiko, she was the eldest daughter of the Hinanawi clan and eventually moved with her family to Heaven when they became Celestials. She was then renamed "Tenshi." Tenshi lived a "boring" life of constant drinking and relaxation in Heaven. This continued until she saw some of the current events happening down in Gensokyo. She decided to use the Sword of Hisou to cause natural disasters in Gensokyo, as a means of attracting the residents so that she could play with them.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- Despite having a extravagant life as a celestial, filled with singing, drinking and dancing, she dismisses all them and thinks her life "boring".
- After seeing observing the how Reimu and other Incident resolvers "playing" with all kinds of different youkai, she decides to cause destruction in Gensokyo to ease her boredom.
- She took Sword of Hisou, a celestial-only weapon to slay lots of phantoms in order to collect scarlet mist from them, which causes the significant decrease of number of Phantoms in Gensokyo, noted by Youmu and Komachi.
- Although phantoms are not humans, they are still sentient just like most non-human creatures in Gensokyo[1], which makes Tenshi one of the few confirmed mass murderers in the series.
- She uses the scarlet mist to invoke disasters all around Gensokyo, summoning untimely rain and hail fall in the Forest of Magic, enveloping Scarlet Devil Mansion with a a cloudy haze, and causing an earthquake that destroyed the Hakurei Shrine.
- AS the residents in Gensokyo notices her, she attempts to cause a greater apocalyptic earthquake that can destroy the entire Gensokyo.
- After she is defeated by the heroines and ordered by Reimu to help rebuild the shrine, she builds a keystone into the shrine so that she can make it the shrine her own clan and let her live in it. This is found out by Yukari Yakumo and makes her angry, she fights Tenshi near the shrine and the battle destroys the shrine again.
- Despite agreeing to build the shrine a second time, she doesn't feel any actual remorse over it, and she still holds her childish and arrogant behavior, would still do whatever she wants to ease her boredom.
- In Antinomy of Common Flowers, she steals and eats an elixir in the banquet of heaven which causes her to temporarily exiled from heaven.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- Despite how arrogant and abrasive her behaviors are, she is genuinely affable and doesn't have malice towards everyone. After Reimu defeats her, she agreed to help Reimu repair the destroyed shrine, and after the shrine is finally rebuilt, she starts a feast in the Bhavaagra, with a giant catfish and invites everyone to eat and drink with her.
- She is On & Off, as she has done some heroic deeds.
- In Antinomy of Common Flowers, she helps Shion Yorigami, a poverty god who lives a miserable life due to her curse brings misforturne to herself and everyone around her, with her supernatural luck as a celestial helps Shion break free of her curse of misfortune, making her live a better life and develops a genuine friendship with her.
- In Wild and Horned Hermit, she gives instruction to Reimu that helps her defeat Kasen Ibaraki's right arm and seal it.
- Due to how childish she is, she has several comedic moments, with her extremely petty motive of causing earthquake just because she feels boring played for laughs to some extent.
