Mankind stands at the top of the food chain, yet they imagine the existence of higher beings and call them gods. Don't you find that awfully strange? Especially since jujutsu sorcerers exist without belief... In the end all those monkeys just want to avert their eyes from the existence of those better than them.
~ Geto discussing his hatred of non-sorcerers.
Are you the strongest because you are Satoru Gojo? Or are you Satoru Gojo because you are the strongest?
~ Geto asking the source of Gojo's power; his most famous quote.

Suguru Geto is the main antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and the deuteragonist of the Hidden Inventory Arc of the manga/anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. He was a student of Tokyo Jujutsu High along with Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri.

After Riko Amanai's murder at the hands of Toji Fushiguro and the deaths of his fellow students, he was slowly turned into a misanthrope bent on exterminating all non-sorcerers to stop Curses from arising and lessen the burden on sorcerers. He is the archenemy of Yuta Okkotsu.

He is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai in Japanese, and by Lex Lang in English, the latter also voices Kil'jaeden in The Legion expansion of World of Warcraft.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Killed an entire village of 122 people to save Mimiko and Nanako from their oppression.
    • Although the villagers were mistreating the children, Geto killed them as an expression of his newly found misanthropy.
  • After learning from Yuki Tsukumo that non-Sorcerers unwittingly give rise to Curses due to being unable to control their Cursed energy, Geto resolved to kill them all to exterminate Curses.
  • Geto killed his own non-sorcerer parents to solidify his goal. While he discussed this with Gojo, he frankly replied he shouldn't form attachments to non-sorcerers if he is attempting genocide against them.
  • Killed Shigeru Sonoda, the representative of the Time Vessel Organization. While it is true that Sonoda was the one who hired Toji to kill Riko, it's clear that Geto was not aware of it and did it because Sonoda was a non-sorcerer.
  • Holds racist views against non-sorcerers, calling them "monkeys" to dehumanize them so that it would be easy for him and his sorcerers to kill all of them.
  • While he genuinely does care about Mimiko and Nanako, he raised the two girls into people who are devoted to him and people who despise non-sorcerers as much as he does, which lead to them temporarily working with Kenjaku and trying to ask for Ryomen Sukuna to avenge Geto's death in the Shibuya Arc, which ended in their deaths.
  • While he does help some ordinary people from getting free from the "ailments" (actually Curses), it was only due to pragmatism and chance to earn more money for his plan. It is also heavily implied that he was the one who set the curses upon them, so that either the curses kill them due to his hatred, or they come to him to spend money so that he can cure them.
  • Released a Cursed Spirit onto an elementary school so that it can kill the children inside, thus endangering the lives of several students as well as nearly resulting in Yuta and Maki getting killed before the former summoned Rika to defeat it.
  • He insults Maki, calling her the Zenin Clan's biggest failure and that she won't be around to see the world he envisions.
  • Threatens the lives of Gojo's students with his Curses to insure they all don't fallow him.
  • Enacted the Night Parade of Hundred Demons upon both Kyoto and Shinjuku, where he released a thousand Curses absorbed during his lifetime as a mere distraction, which endangered and killed many civilians.
  • Gravely wounded Maki, Panda and Inumaki, which leads Yuta to unleashing Rika Orimoto out of anger towards him.
  • Tried to kill Yuta so that he could seize Rika from him, thus going against his supposed ideal of not harming fellow sorcerers.
  • Despite being fatally wounded, Geto re-affirmed his hatred for the non-sorcerers, showing that he had no remorse for attempting genocide against them.
  • While Sukuna and Kenjaku did a lot worse than him, Sukuna is more powerful than Geto could ever hope to achieve, and Kenjaku became a lot more powerful by manipulating the Kamo clan and gaining the favor of the US Army. Geto still stands out due to his unique goal of exterminating all non-sorcerers, which would have killed billions had his goal succeeded.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is a very tragic and sympathetic character, far too much for Near Pure Evil:
    • He started out as a heroic Jujutsu sorcerer trying to protect the weak from curses, but when he was on a mission to lead Riko Amanai to merge with Lord Tengen, he started having second doubts and tried to let her live free, she was shot dead by Toji Fushiguro in front of him. Over the following year, he had to watch as his best friend Gojo surpassed him in power and started to distance himself from Geto due to the loneliness of being The Strongest, while Geto himself started going on solo missions where he swallowed curses due to the nature of his Cursed Technique, which tasted like "a rag that was used to wipe vomit"; things only got worse when another close friend, Haibara, was killed on a mission due to the higher-ups accidentally sending him against a curse too strong for him to handle. Due to knowing that curses are born from non-sorcerers and their uncontrolled Cursed Energy, he started to gain a hatred for them, which eventually lead to full-on genocidal intentions once Yuki claimed that it would be a genuine solution to the problem of curses, no matter how insane and heinous. He also had to watch as Mimiko and Nanako, who were still two little girls, were unjustly tortured and abused by the villagers because of the accidents they caused, which were unintentional and only caused by their uncontrolled curse powers, which sealed Geto's decision to wipe out all non-Jujutzists forever.
    • His sympathy also extends to his death, where after being fatally wounded by Yuta, he would meet Gojo one last time. Geto claims that his tragedy left him unable to truly smile, only for Gojo to reply with something that made Geto laugh before he was finished off by his own best friend. Even if he cursed non-sorcerers to his dying breath, his death was still very sympathetic.
    • He's still treated sympathetically in death. Mimiko and Nanako tried to make a deal with Kenjaku to get him out of Geto's corpse, and once that didn't work, they turned to Sukuna in hopes he would kill Kenjaku. Manami and Negi chose to not fight Jujutsu High because it's not what Geto would have wanted, while Miguel and Larue fight Sukuna in order to mourn his death despite recognizing that Geto was evil and is definitely burning in Hell.
  • His goal of killing all non-sorcerers is to bring about a future where his fellow sorcerers no longer die to Curses, who are born from the uncontrolled Cursed Energy left behind by non-sorcerers. This makes him a genuine extremist.
  • He has cared for several people:
    • His fellow sorcerers, especially Satoru Gojo, even after they became enemies. After he was fatally wounded by Yuta and about to be killed by Gojo, he told him he holds no ill will towards him. His care for Gojo was so strong that, when his body was being used by Kenjaku, his arm, in a muscle memory reflex, grabbed his own (or in this case, Kenjaku's) neck to stop his own body from harming Gojo. Even Kenjaku is impressed by that and comments on how it is unusual.
    • The sorcerers that were allied with him, especially his adopted daughters Mimiko and Nanako, all of whom he sees as family. When he learned all of them survived the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, he is genuinely relieved.
    • Rika Amanai, whom Suguru became close to while protecting her. Her death by the hands of Toji was one of the main causes of Suguru's sorrow and eventual turn towards evil.
  • He has a minor Pet The Dog moment where he gives Yuta his student ID back for no pragmatic reasons.
