Spinel is a supporting character in the Steven Universe franchise. She is the former best friend of Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, who was abandoned by Pink when she was given Earth to turn into a colony. After learning about Steven Universe and that Pink was not coming back for her, she decided to destroy all life on Earth as an act of vengeance.
She was voiced by Sarah Stiles.

What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- She planned to exterminate all life on Earth using her injector, which produced a substance that would slowly poison and rot all organic life.
- Upon arriving on Earth and confronting Steven and his friends, Spinel fought the Crystal Gems and poofed them with her gem rejuvenator. This resulted in them losing their memories.
- She mercilessly attacked Steven with the rejuvenator, which caused him to lose his powers. She then taunted him about how without his powers, his human side would have no way of surviving her plan.
- After briefly being redeemed and removing the injector, she noticed that Steven still had the rejuvenator. Thinking he was going to use it on her, she turned against him again and continued her plan to destroy the planet.
- She took Garnet hostage, threatening her in order to make Steven fight her. When Garnet started regaining her memories, Spinel tried to use a boulder to crush her.
- In order to distract the Crystal Gems from fighting her, Spinel retreated to the top of her injector and released most of the poison. This resulted in much of Beach City being destroyed and the lives of everyone in it being threatened. A splash of the poison also hit Greg's arm, causing it to go limp and turn completely gray.
- When Steven tried to reason with her again, she attacked him before slowly threatening to drop him from the top of her injector, even mocking him for his insecurities before dropping him.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She has an incredibly tragic backstory. She was tricked by Pink Diamond, basically her only friend, into playing a game, with said friend actually abandoning her. She waited for thousands of years, hoping for Pink Diamond to return. During that time, she began doubting herself and wondering if she was doing something wrong. When she learned that Pink abandoned her and made new friends, she completely broke. Not even having her memories erased could completely get rid of the trauma she went through. She is also very insecure about herself and her actions, and didn't truly understand why she wanted to hurt Steven and his friends so badly.
- Despite trying to personally kill Steven during their second fight, Spinel eventually breaks down and admits that she genuinely grew to like him after all the time they spent together, even questioning why she wanted to hurt him anymore.
- She briefly redeemed herself and removed the injector, thinking she finally found new friends. She only turned against them again when she thought they were going to betray her. Later, she ultimately redeemed herself again and felt remorse for all of her actions. She then moved on to start a new, better life, and became a friend to Steven and his other allies.
- When Steven was corrupted himself, Spinel cried and felt guilty at the fact that she was one of the causes of Steven's transformation, as she tried to leave Steven alone with amnesiac friends on a barren world, and then attempted to kill him.
- She joins Steven's friends in hugging him in his corrupted form, so they may bring back his humanity.
