~ Sheryl explaining the reason why she became evil to her son Gary. |
Sheryl Goodspeed is a major antagonist turned major protagonist in the adult sci-fi comedy series Final Space. She is the mother of Gary Goodspeed and ex-wife of John Goodspeed, who abandoned the former after the latter's death.
She was voiced by Claudia Black.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- After John sacrificed himself to close the breach that lead to Final Space, Sheryl left Gary behind, even though he was just a child back then. This makes her the most personal enemy to Gary, arguably more than the main villains such as the Lord Commander and Invictus.
- Commited countless crimes that caused her to become one of the most infamous criminals in the galaxy and caused her to be sentenced to death.
- While escaping prison, she killed at least 8 guards to escape, even ripping off one's head.
- She manipulated Gary into making him steal a dimensional key and then left him when he tried to convince her to stay with him.
- She killed several of Todd's henchmen who tried to capture her, and while she allowed them to capture her after she was bored killing them, it was only so she could directly kill Todd.
- Worked with Todd in attempting to capture Gary so she would be able to get the dimensional keys, not caring if Todd could kill her son.
- After Clarence betrayed the Team Squad and gave Sheryl the dimensional keys, she left him and then taunted him that he was just a disgusting toad before leaving him, although one could argue Clarence did deserve it.
- When she was about to steal the fifth key and one of the Beforians warned her not to do it, Sheryl killed him and took the key anyway, killing all the Beforians as a result and showing no remorse afterwards.
- She tried to kill H.U.E. and Ava after they went to go after the fifth dimensional key.
- Held Nightfall hostage so she could force Gary into giving her the dimensional keys.
- When she escaped from her jail thanks to Tribore, she tried to kill Gary and steal the dimensional keys, only to be knocked out by Fox and put back in jail afterwards.
- Despite the high heinous standards of Final Space, Sheryl stands out with her limited resources in comparison to most villains who have god-like powers, entire armies or both, as well as her personal villany towards Gary.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She suffers from a genuine tragedy, as she was separated from John, the person she truly loved, after he found out she originally used him until she eventually fell in love with him, lost John, which caused her to lose all the care she had for anyone else, and became a drunk mess before Oreskis manipulated her into helping him get the dimensional keys. While one can argue that she was already a somewhat of a bad person by the time of those events, it's still played for sympathy, with several characters in-universe feeling sorry for her, Gary included.
- She deeply loved John, being heartbroken over his death and her main goal before redeeming herself was to bring John back from Final Space.
- She redeemed herself after Tribore, H.U.E. and Fox convinced her to change and became an anti-heroine, helping Gary save Quinn and stayed in Final Space to make sure Gary didn't die.
- She grew to develop a more soft spot for Little Cato and Ash, such as comforting them both over their problems and even giving them some advice.
- She cared for Fox, helping in making his funeral and mourning his death alongside the rest of the Team Squad.
