Shadow the Hedgehog, also known the Ultimate Life Form, is a major antagonist in Sonic the Comic Online!, the "unofficially official" continuation of the Sonic the Comic series.
He is a clone of Sonic the Hedgehog created as a weapon by the Drakon Empire to destroy Mobius during the ancient war between the Echidnas and the Drakons. He assists Dr. Zachary in his plans to destroy Mobius, motivated by the loss of his friend, Dr. Ovi Kintobor.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He assisted Zachary in his plans to destroy Mobius, because that's all that Robotnik, who Shadow still considered the same person as Kintobor, wanted to happen.
- He used his Chaos Powers to attract Chaos Emeralds to himself while in the Special Zone, despite knowing that this would destroy said dimension and everyone who lived there.
- While a later issue would reveal that the Special Zone actually rebuilt itself instead of being destroyed for good, Shadow was never made aware of it since he was long gone by then.
- He blamed Sonic for turning Kintobor into Robotnik, even though Sonic himself regretted this action and performed it to stop the Brotherhood of Metallix from destroying life on Mobius.
- When Sonic tried to explain to Shadow that Robotnik wasn't truly Kintobor and didn't even share his memories, he claimed that he didn't care and still proceeded with Zachary's plans.
- He delivered the Chaos Emeralds to Dr. Zachary, allowing him to fire the Chaos Syphon on Mobius. The planet was only saved from destruction by the Chaos Tap Sonic placed.
- He ends up making Sonic nearly fall to to death when changing him to a race on the Death Carrier only to make Sonic become Super Sonic from the fall.
- Unlike his canon counterpart, he never redeemed himself since he died before he can do so. Additionally, due to being more heinous than him, he passes the standards of the Sonic the Comic universe.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He has a genuine tragedy. He was created as a weapon, but left unfinished, trapped as a formless and immobile being unaware of his origin, and his only friend, Ovi Kintobor, was turned into a villain, leaving Shadow alone for years. The only reason he tried to destroy Mobius was to fulfill Robotnik's wish.
- He is overall portrayed too sympathetically to be Near Pure Evil, as while he only cares for one person, he is also clearly far too broken by the loss of his friend to think rationally.
- He genuinely cares for both Kintobor and Robotnik, even sacrificing his life to save the latter while faux redeeming himself.
Trivia[]
- This is one of the three versions of Shadow to be IH, alongside his Sonic X and Sonic Cinematic Universe counterparts.
- Out of the three, he is the only one not to redeem himself, as he only faux redeemed himself.
- Only the original Shadow from Sonic the Comic Online! is IH, as Shadow II's heinous acts are standard and he eventually becomes a genuine hero.
