Sam, or Samhain, is the main protagonist in the Halloween horror film Trick 'r Treat. He is a homicidal entity who wanders around, enforcing the rules of Halloween through killing anyone who violates the rules of the holiday.
He was played by child actor Quinn Lord.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- As punishment towards Sarah, Chip, Macy, and Schrader for breaking one of the Halloween rules for Macy kicking a jack-o-lantern into the river and for pranking Rhonda, Sam brought the 8 children who were drowned to death in the infamous School Bus Massacre to life as zombies, which ended up getting them killed through being eaten by them while he spares Rhonda to go free.
- As punishment towards Mr. Kreeg for not giving candy towards trick-or-treaters, he proceeds to terrorize him in attempts to kill him after killing his dog, only sparing his life when he winds up giving him a candy bar (albeit somewhat unintentionally since it was just used as a defense move) and ensuring he does not break any rules of Halloween again, though the scenario ended up leaving Kreeg with a broken arm.
- When he spots Emma breaking one of the rules of Halloween by putting out a jack-o-lantern before midnight, he sneaks up on her and gruesomely kills her with his candy knife before crucifying her on a wooden cross while decorated in lights with a lollipop shoved in her mouth.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is a lawful neutral anti-villain since his acts were done under the objective of ensuring that the rules of Halloween are followed with no one breaking them like ensuring that trick-or-treaters get their candy, jack-o-lanterns aren't put out before midnight, etc.
- He is shown to have some mercy as shown by him sparing Kreeg after the latter unintentionally gave him a candy bar, taking it as following one of his rules and also spared Rhonda from being killed like Sarah, Chip, Macy, and Schrader were and allowed her to walk away.
