~ SMG3's most famous line during the WOTFI 2020 Rap Battle. |
SuperMemeGuardian3, better known as SMG3, is the main antagonist of the Australian adult-animated sitcom web series SMG4.
He is SMG4 and Mario's former arch-nemesis, whom he constantly tried to kill. He commonly teams up with Bowser to enact his villainous acts, but they often lead to disaster, as in the case of Ztar. During the worst of these, he frequently teams up with the heroes to deal with the bigger threat.
He was voiced by Luke Lerdwichagul in "Mario's EXTRAS: MarioTube 2" but by James Bailey from 2020 onwards. His singing voice in "Once Upon An SMG4" was provided by Zachary Preciado and Elsie Lovelock.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Although he became a villain due to SMG4 being more popular than him, this excuse is played for laughs rather than sympathy nor would it justify his actions that have nothing to do with this.
- He is implied to have been the mysterious Shady Character who tried to steal SMG4's account in "Account Loss".
- Revived several of the gang’s previous foes to kill SMG4 just because he felt like it.
- Hired a hitman to kill SMG4 and friends.
- He created Ztar to terrorize the Mushroom Kingdom, which would nearly cause the destruction of the world itself. While he didn’t create Ztar for omnicide, he still intended to use him for destruction.
- Forced Mario and his friends to fight to the death in a gladiator arena.
- Stole all the Wi-Fi in the Mushroom Kingdom, turning it into a desolate wasteland and causing normally nice characters like Meggy and Tari to become closed off and hostile.
- Stole all the food from the planet Popstar.
- Kidnapped Bowser and forced him to be his patient.
- Forced Shroomy into his Anti-Shroomy persona using a demon mask.
- Banished Mario and Luigi to the Internet Graveyard after using the former to obtain the YouTube Remote.
- Deleted the entire SMG4 cast minus Mario by having his Anti-Cast travel back in time and prevent them from ever meeting Mario.
- He had also done the same with Frankie as a demonstration, showing he is perfectly fine with killing children.
- He’s demonstrated to be abusive towards the Anti-Cast, as he had verbally abused Whimpu when he was failing the role of Saiko, showed no sympathy towards JubJub, and even electrocuted Belle when she stood up towards him.
- Threatened to throw Fishy Boopkins off a building had JubJub not given him the YouTube Remote.
- He blackmailed Mario in "Mario Joins Discord" to get Mushroom Kingdom's Nuclear Codes, which shows that even post-redemption, he can have his villainous moments. However, the canonicity of this video is ambiguous.
- Even after his redemption, he tried to betray the other SMGs to gain unlimited power from the God Box. He also never reformed or showed any remorse for trying to kill the SMG4 cast and has no problem continuing to be evil sometimes.
- Blew up the entire earth twice, the former time just because of a creepy fan while the other is a For The Evulz crime.
- He intentionally absorbed negative energy to gain power, which endangered himself, SMG4 and Mario.
- Unlike SMG4, his moral agency wasn't messed; the negative energy only made his power hunger even worse, and he only stopped for pragmatic reasons.
- In "SMG4: Christmas Wars," he trapped human souls in Gingermans, and when one of them tried to ask for help and explained what had happened to him, SMG3 ate him alive. He also kidnapped Santa and forced him to sing to the people who went to see his party.
- While in a night at he did try to stop Mr. Puzzles and Leggy from breaking in the place and getting to the comedy zone his main reason for doing this was selfish as it was to just to be a cooler villian than him which was something that even Mr. Puzzles found petty.
- In IT'S ME..., him and SMG4 scary mario just for fun but this caused mario almost destroy and corrupted the Showgrounds just to prank SMG4 and SMG3 make both indirectly responsible for that chaos.
- Despite Niles doing far worse because has attempted to destroy the entire multiverse, SMG3 had less resources than him.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is very rarely taken seriously, and even when he is, he still has several detracting moments that are played for laughs. Even if he was never redeemed, this alone would've been enough to prevent him from being NPE, and can arguably come off as very incompetent at times.
- He is shown to have standards:
- He's often disturbed by Enzo and his antics.
- He was disgusted by SMG4 throwing a childish temper tantrum over the wifi router being smashed in MAR10 Day and rightfully criticizes him for it.
- He was mortified by everything Niles did and strived to do.
- In "Two evil friends", he was uncomfortable with stealing the princess while she was in the shower, viewing it as being just plain creepy.
- He’s shown to be incredibly concerned with Bowser’s treatment of his children, even considering calling child protective services when disguised as Cromulus.
- He showed disgust in Miyamoto's actions when he was planing to force Mario and other Nintendo characters to do emotes with his EmotiCon, stating that it was a whole new level of evil even for him.
- After getting banished to the Internet Graveyard at the end of the YouTube Arc, he started genuinely caring about the memes there, taking care of them, and becoming the realm's ruler. This even leads to him pulling a redemption and properly bonding with the SMG4 Crew.
- Before his redemption, he would be on and off as he would redeem Waluigi and would help stop other evil beings such as Ztar. He would then redeem himself at the end of the Genesis Arc, acknowledging SMG4 as someone who's alright for a mortal enemy and becoming friends with him, becoming a bit of an anti-heroic person as a result.
- He was sad when Axol sacrificed his life to defeat Zero despite barely knowing him.
- He genuinely cared for a Ugandan Knuckles named Terrance, taking him on as an apprentice in the Internet Graveyard, and even viewed him as a son. When he and SMG4 had to sacrifice Terrance by converting him into meme energy to stop Niles, doing so was very hard for him, and he mourned his death.
- Following this, he adopted an Eggdog, whom he also cares about and frequently provides for as if he were his own child.
- While he tries to pretend he doesn’t, he does ultimately care for SMG4. He frequently reaches out to him while he’s working on the Perfect Video and is the one who ultimately snaps SMG4 out of his insanity through a completely genuine speech.
- While it doesn't justifies him. In “SMG4 Movie: It’s Gotta Be Perfect” and recent videos, it was shown that he’s genuinely insecure and broken, too, which is played sympathetically.
Trivia[]
- He started off as Inconsistently Heinous but then was changed to a Villainous Benchmark due to never intending to unleash Ztar, thus failing the standards to villains with fewer resources like Mario. However, later crimes of his, mainly blowing up the earth twice, ended up being able to boost him above the heinous standard. This makes him the second SMG4 IH to have previously been a Villainous Benchmark, preceded by The Box Club Leader.
