SCP-682, also commonly known as the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile and later as SCP-6820-A, is a major antagonist in the SCP Mythos.

It is an SCP object and one of the most well-known and dangerous objects captured by the SCP Foundation. It is a Keter class anomaly, possibly the offspring of the Scarlet King, and is SCP-166 and SCP-999's half-sibling.

In Containment Breach, it was voiced by an uncredited Eric Roberts.

What Makes It Heinous?

• It hates all life and wants to destroy all of it.
• It killed hundreds to even thousands.
• It ate a farmer couple alive because he thought they were disgusting.
• It thought killing all life would ''save'' the world in SCP-5000.
• It killed and ate D-085 for no real reason.
• It killed and ate 2 kids, possibly more if we consider it's high kill count.
• It becomes aggressive if someone so much as talks to it and will try to kill them.
• Even though multiple SCPs pass him in heinousness on the baseline article, it was able to commit omnicide by hacking and manipulating SCP-6820.
• It is a jerk calling other life disgusting.

What Makes It Inconsistent?

• It genuinely cares about SCP-053, SCP-999, and SCP-079 acting like a father/playmate to the former & a best friend to the latter.
  • It also cares about Epsilon Serpentis, as evidenced by it's death during testing with SCP-023.
• It spared Dr. Clef after it walked into it's cell for seemingly no reason.
• He is cowardly (Implied by Dr Gears to be shy and cautious and with the cross test of SCP-524) Meaning he attacks out of fear
• It is heavily dependent on the writer, in some tales it has plenty of redeeming qualities and in other tales it has none depending on the variation. In some, it cannot stop itself from killing creatures of earth, giving it moral agency issues.
• It's aggressive behavior mostly happens when it is provoked. As seen in the SCP-409 test, it was in extreme pain and agony, thus it's anger was justified in the said test.
• Almost all interactions with life will try to kill it or hurt it meaning it most likely has a negative view of life.
• Is the constant of termination meaning it is evil by default.
