“ | Don't worry, little platypus agent. When I'm through here, you'll no longer have to battle this inept loser anymore. Because, you see, I plan to get rid of both of you! | „ |
~ Rodrigo to Perry the Platypus, showcasing his true colors. |
Rodrigo is the main antagonist of the Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb episode "Minor Monogram".
He is a teenage newcomer of the Evil Science School who gets apprenticed by Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. However, it turns out that Rodrigo actually sees his mentor as a pathetic loser, planning to backstab Doofenshmirtz and use one of his inventions to take over the world.
He was voiced by Jorge Garcia.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Even before showing his true colors, the very fact that Rodrigo decided to enter the Evil Science School for no apparent reasons (not even seeming to have a backstory behind his motives like when they point that out to him) suggests that he became evil on his own accord with a self-driven desire.
- He backstabbed Heinz Doofenshmirtz, who offered to mentor him, by taking over his evil scheme for taking over the Tri-State Area due to Doofenshmirtz just wanting to take over Danville, exploiting his mentorship. What makes this worse, however, is that Rodrigo was planning to do this even before seeing how incompetent his mentor is, intending to get rid of both Doof and his nemeses Perry the Platypus.
- He trapped Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his daughter Vanessa with some of his advanced traps, in addition to tightening Perry's trap with some modifications early on.
- He took control of two massive propellers Doofenshmirtz intended to use to dislodge the Tri-State Area and refused to put it back until the world named him their leader to instead split the entire area into two, an action that would have resulted in thousands of deaths had Rodrigo succeeded, so he can demoralize others from stopping him to enable him in conquering the world,
- While he initially showed some attraction to Vanessa and offered her to join him so they can rule the world together, he discarded any kind of care he felt for her once she refused.
- He tried attacking Monty Monogram when he comes to stop him.
- While he did ask Vanessa if she still likes him for being a "bad boy" once Monty defeats him and leaves him tied up to an armchair for him to be picked up by the OWCA, it's likely this was just an attempt at manipulation to make her set him free.
- While Red Skull tried to blow up the Tri-State Area, he still stands out enough from him as he presumably knew that the OWCA agents were sapient, considering that he knew Perry was sapient. Therefore, he has more of a sapient kill from him.
- While Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Aloyse Von Roddenstein did worse, he has less resources than them due to having no way of destroying humanity.
- He is also still in evil science school and thus not as intelligent as them.
- He also lacks the former's redeeming qualities.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Like most Phineas and Ferb villains, he is too comedic to be PE or NPE, with numerous moments detracting from his villainy such as:
- Him looking puzzled when Doofenshmirtz misinterprets his betrayal as a "robot hug for a job well done."
- Him trying to convince Vanessa to join him by promising her to let her get a tattoo in reference to an early conversation between her and her father which ended with Doofenshmirtz forbidding his daughter from paying for one.
- His fight against Monty Monogram consisting with pure slapstick much like those of Perry against Doofenshmirtz.
