Robert Jebediah Freeman is the deuteragonist of The Boondocks series. He is the paternal grandfather of Huey and Riley Freeman.
He was voiced by the late John Witherspoon in the animated series.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He frequently abuses his grandchildren.
- He used up all of Huey and Riley's inheritance to purchase a house he could not afford.
- He killed Colonel H. Stinkmeaner by accident during their fight, although he may have deserved it.
- Along with Riley, he pretended to be blind so he could get the car fixed and receive free stuff.
- In a dream, he selfishly abandoned all his friends and family, including Huey and Riley, to save himself from a hoard of Stinkmeaners. While this was just a dream, Robert clearly expressed no remorse, celebrating over how he survived and they died.
- He sold away his grandsons to Ed Wunceler II with no hesitation so he could earn quick money, before he and his grandsons rebelled against him and regained their freedom.
- Him and Riley knowingly sold hair gel that contains explosive properties. This would neglectfully turn them into terrorists as the explosions could endanger multiple people by setting them on fire and even risked blowing up a plane as two women were about to board. Even after learning of its dangers, they decide to sell it too gangsters.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Like most characters in the show, he is almost always played for laughs.
- He is on and off, having occasional heroic moments.
- He cares for a multitude of others including his family, friends and women he has fallen in love with.
- He has a genuine tragedy of losing his first love, most likely Dorothy, who was his wife, and also losing his son and daughter-in-law in a horrible accident that would change his life forever, which explains the way he's strict and sometimes overprotective towards Huey and Riley.
