Rimuru Tempest or nicknamed Forsaken Future Rimuru Tempest is the main villainous protagonist of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories mobile game's original event storyline Dark Horizons.
Unlike his Main Timeline Version, this version of Rimuru Tempest failed to return to his nation in time due events of playing out where he was struck down by Hinata Sakaguchi in their encounter and by the time he revived, 3 years passed where he returned to his nation with nearly everyone he cared either dead or enslaved while a few went into hiding. Blinded by grief and rage of loss of his loved ones he absorbs the fallen souls and ravaged those who wronged him resulting in a "Age of Chaos".
His Evil Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- It is unclear who Rimuru Tempest faced when he was attacking an village due to the player being in a first person perspective but is heavily implied to be The Masked Hero.
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
In General[]
- Since he is from an alternate timeline separate from the Main Light Novel series or main ISEKAI Memories storylines, meaning he doesn’t need to compete with main series villains like Feldway and Rudra Nam Ul Nasca or main ISEKAI Memories continuity villains like Izis and Cliché and has a much lower heinous standard. In addition Hinata only had a "kill the heroes" act and Clayman existed offscreen meaning he has no one to fail to as a result.
- While some of crimes were offscreen they are mentioned in the dialogue text and have enough onscreen impact in cutscenes to not rely on fridge-horror.
- While he did most of same heroic acts as main version until his fight with Hinata they're all offscreen and wouldn't effect his status even then.
Dark Horizons[]
- He used the souls of his fallen subjects to awaken info an True Demon Lord and when he awakens he does the following according to the dialogue text:
- He retakes his nation the Jura-Tempest Federation by force once he woke up from his evolution sleep.
- He eliminated Clayman, Falmuth and their "kin" meaning he wiped out two nations with many people. One of the shots with him have Ranga and Veldora Tempest, which implies he destroyed the Western Holy Church and attacked Ruberios.
- He triggers an "Age of Chaos" when he ends up ravaging the Western Nations.
- He would willingly do necessary evils while feeling no remorse for his actions if it meant protecting those he care about.
- He attacked and burned down a random village before the player could ultimately subdue him.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's FAR too tragic and sympathetic to be Near Pure Evil as unlike the Main Timeline Rimuru Tempest, this one failed to get back in time due to being struck down by Hinata Sakaguchi and by time he revived 3 years passed where he returned to his nation where those inside Holy Barrier were slaughtered that being Benimaru, Shuna, Kurobe, Shion, Hakarou, Gobta, Rigur, Rigurd, and etc with any survivors either enslaved or forced into hiding which those injustices and horrors of his failure to return in time horrifying him, all of this trauma ultimately would eventually break him and made him snap that caused him to do his heinous actions giving him massive Freudian Excuse.
- In his unit's secret skill ultimate move cutscene he is saddened by what he lost and shown to be remorseful, meaning his tragedy still holds up.
- While is unclear if he was killed or was simply knocked out and incapacitated when he was defeated by the Player but either way, it was still played for lots of sympathy with sad music playing and flashback of all those who he lost.
- He still has some of his former standards as he will willingly shower gifts & open his arms to anyone who ally with him as long they don't harm to him and still cares for his nation.
- He is ultimately an well intended extremist who only did his acts to protect his nation and allow his nation to proposer who will willingly do morally Gray Zone acts unlike his main version to keep his people safe.
- He is also an scapegoat due to Hinata Sakaguchi thinking he killed Shizu like his main version and humankind's prejudice towards Demi-Humans and Monsters.
Trivia[]
- His main timeline version does not qualify as Inconsistently Heinous as his "heinous" acts that would've allowed him to pass the series absurdly high heinous standard such as wiping out Falmuth's army of 20,000 and the Eastern Empire army of 900,000 later on in the Light Novel, they were all done to save the innocents of his nation from attempted genocide and both opponents were too ruthless for less lethal options or other alternatives to work, making non-lethal means all off the table at that point, not to mention those opponents weren't 100% innocent who committed warcrimes and alternate timelines were shown on what would happen if the invasions are successful that involved many innocents slaughtered and enslaved that prevent their threats of destroying his nation from being relied on fridge-horror, meaning it was ultimately justified and not to mention even then he would fail the heinous standard to Feldway, Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, Milim Nava, Veldora Tempest, and multiple others with similar resources who done far worse than him even if those acts were more intentionally malicious.
- Forsaken Future Rimuru Tempest ultimately shows the main timeline would've went through the same thing if he didn't make back in time to wipe out Falmuth's army and awaken as an True Demon Lord to save his nation and revived back those who died from the first attack.
- In the main Light Novel series Chloe Aubert mentioned of an altenate Rimuru Tempest with an similar backstory and likely inspired by this one. If both alternate versions of Rimuru Tempest are confirmed to be same individual it would make him worse.
