His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- In the past he made some illegal human vivisections and was thrown out from the Citadel. This is not off-screen villainy because in one of the episodes of the Histories & Lore (a series of animated videos which ar canon to Game of Thrones) Qyburn is shown vivisecting a man who is on a table and then inspects his heart, much to the disgust of other Maesters who see him like that.
- Even Pycelle was digusting from Qyburn's human vivisections.
- He has killed some rats for his testing and has also taken a dwarf's head that poachers have killed.
- Revived Ser Gregor Clegane after he was poisoned nearly to death. He didn't heal him, only saved his body and caused him to suffer. This can be seen when Gregor was shaking in his bed during the process and Qyburn treated him with indifference and proceeded with his plan. This also makes him responsible for all the murders Gregor commits after his revival.
- Takes control of the "little birds" from Varys and uses them for espionage.
- Helped Cersei blow up the Sept of Baelor which caused the deaths of hundreds of people. While he was acting under her orders, the only reason why Cersei was able to pull it off was thanks to him because at the time she had no political power, no one outside of Qyburn who was willing to follow her, no knowledge about the hidden caches of wildfire until Qyburn reported that to her and no control over the birds which were used to blow up the Sept.
- During the same time he also kills Pycelle with the little birds, after leading him into trap.
- Devises a poison which kills its victims extremely slowly over the course of several days, so Cersei could use it on Tyene Sand and make her mother watch. He also forcefully held Tien's mouth to keep her quiet with the poison.
- Helps Cercei kill Daenerys's dragons by creating a new weapon - a Scorpion that can penetrate dragon scales and is used to kill the dragon Rhaegal by Euron. This also causes Cersei to built many Scorpions on King's Landing's wall, which pushes her to open war against Daenerys.
- Hired Ser Bronn to kill Cersei's brothers - Jaime and Tyrion.
- Refuses Tyrion's request to prevent the final battle with Daenerys, because their army was stronger and didn't care that Cersei could kill all of Daenerys' men.
- While most of his crimes are under Cersei's orders, he still stands out because of his role in destruction of the Sept of Baelor which kills hundreds of people is so important that Cersei wouldn't have been able to do it on her own if Qyburn had refused to help her and because of his unethical experiments with human test subjects which he has performed before even meeting with Cersei.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too affable to qualify as Near Pure Evil. He is polite to everyone he meets and shows little pride or smugness at his accomplishments and shows no malice to anyone. There is no indication that his affable demeanor is not genuine.
- He has genuine loyalty to Cersei as he helped her in all her deeds even when she was in an unfavorable position, warned her to stay in the Red Keep and looked shocked after Cersei comes naked from the Walk of Atonement and instantly dresses her.
- He shows disgust towards the actions of other characters on some occasions:
- He is disgusted by Pycelle's actions including his betrayal of Cersei, his lying and his hypocrisy.
- He is disgusted by the High Sparrows' treatment of Cersei and how they forced her to perform the Walk of Atonement.
- He asks for forgiveness from Pycelle before he kills him with his "little birds, indicating he felt remorse for the crime.
- He may be a well-intentioned extremist as he claims that his unethical experiments have allowed him to better understand the human body which has helped him in saving lives later on. He demonstrates this when he treats Jaime's hand when it's cut off.
