Professor Finbarr Calamitous is the main antagonist of Nickelodeon's Jimmy Neutron franchise.
He is a scientist that aims to take over the world, but is often held back from doing so by his inability to finish anything. Calamitous is one of Jimmy Neutron's archenemies, alongside King Goobot.
He was voiced by Tim Curry, who also played Wadsworth in Clue.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Stole Goddard, and then trapped Neutron to try to force him into building a machine that would help him take over Retroville.
- After Jimmy escaped, he chased after him and tried to shoot him down.
- He lied to Jimmy and his friends, telling them they needed to get an egg to save the world, when in reality, he planned to use the egg to power a doomsday machine that would enslave the planet.
- Trapped Jimmy and his friends inside a forcefield while sadistically "thanking" Carl for destroying Jimmy's Null-Generator.
- Captured Jimmy and Jet Fusion.
- Tried to flood Earth just to showcase his own villainy to the world.
- Programmed his computer to blow up the lab if the flood Earth plan was ended.
- Along with Beautiful Gorgeous, he chased after Jimmy and Jet Fusion when they were trying to get away.
- Pretended to be Quentin Smithee and got Jimmy and his friends to work on a set with him, where Calamitous repeatedly tried to kill them.
- Convinced Jimmy to convince his friends to continue the movie production despite the obvious danger.
- Worked with other Jimmy Neutron villains to defeat him.
- Along with Eustace Strych, he used music to keep Jimmy’s friends permanently dancing.
- Tried to kill Jimmy, his friends, and the redeemed villains.
- In the crossover episode "When Nerds Collide", he:
- Teamed up with Sydney Moist and robbed the Retrovile bank. After Jimmy arrives to stop them, he ends the partnership by launching him out of the robot he created for not keeping an eye out out for Jimmy, possibly killing him in the process.
- Teamed up with Anti-Cosmo to release the anti-fairies (although this was out of pragmatic reasons as he believed that Anti-Cosmo would help him destroy Jimmy).
- After he accidentally fused with Jorgen, he tried to kill both Timmy and Jimmy using his magic, only failing to do so as it was against Da Rules, thus turning them to snails instead.
- Caused havoc throughout Retroville using Jorgen's magic such as unleashing a dinosaur on its citizens and imprisoning Jimmy's parents in carbonite.
- Tried to blow up the universe to recreate it in his own image, specifically by using a bomb he created with Jorgen's magic. He would have succeeded with this had it not been for Jorgen stopping the bomb at the last second.
- While the heinous standard within Jimmy Neutron and The Fairly OddParents combined is extremely high, as it has mass enslavers, mass brainwashers, mass human experimenters, and numerous characters that have attempted (or even succeeded) to kill billions of innocent lives, Professor Calamitous still stands out for his explicit attempted universal omnicide as well as his other crimes such as trying to flood the Earth.
- While Shirley did worse by trying to destroy two universes, he is more powerful as he has the ability to adopted to anything.
- In the video game Nicktoons Unite!, he copied Jimmy's latest invention while forming a Syndicate with Plankton, Vlad Plasmius, and Denzel Crocker and has them stealing energy from their respective worlds to power his doomsday device which he will use to destory the universe. He also planted a flea-bot on Goddard to spy on him.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He’s played for laughs too much to count as Near Pure Evil. Most notably, he's comedically incompetent, as he can’t finish anything. Even after taking self-help classes, he still can’t finish some things as he didn’t finish the self-help classes. He has other moments that detract from his seriousness such as a running gag about not being able to even finish a sentence, having amusement park music be played when he's spinning Timmy and Jimmy's friends around, him saying: “Why are you hitting yourself?” while making Jorgen hit himself and him bickering with Jorgen after being fused with him.
- He’s affable, as he treats his captives and people working with him politely even when he doesn’t need to. He also rang the doorbell when he could have taken Goddard by force.
- Although they have a rocky relationship, he does care for Beautiful Gorgeous.
- He has tragic backstory as he was a brilliant student, but he was unable to finish anything and failed Ms. Fowl`s class, vowing to come back when the time come. through his lifetime, he was ridiculed for this tendency, driving him to seek vengeance.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the four Jimmy Neutron characters to be Inconsistently Heinous, along with The Nanobots, Hugh Neutron and Shirley.
