President Waylon A. Skroob is the overarching antagonist of the 1987 live-action science fiction comedy Spaceballs, which is a spoof of Star Wars.
He is the president of the planet Spaceball and is behind the plot to steal all the air from Planet Druidia. Skroob intends to extract Druidia's air so he can fill up his planet with it since it is running low on air.
He was played by the film's director Mel Brooks.
His Evil Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- It's unknown if he planned to steal Druidia's air to save his people's lives or just so he wouldn't have to rely on Perri-Air to survive. Considering he lies about everything being under control and is ready to throw his subordinates under the bus to save himself, it's most likely the latter.
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- It's heavily implied that his mismanagement is the reason Planet Spaceball is out of air, as Dark Helmet suggests that with him in charge, Druidia's air will only be enough for 100 years instead of ten thousand.
- He denied that there was a shortage of air on his planet.
- When his commander told him that they have spotted Princess Vespa, he has them kidnap her alive to blackmail her father, King Roland, into giving up the code for Druidia's air shield.
- He attempted to suck out all of the air of Planet Druidia with his ship's machine "Mega Maid", which would have resulted in the people of the planet suffocating to death from a lack of oxygen.
- When Mega Maid was set to self-destruct, he attempted to board the last escape pod while openly stating that Dark Helmet and Colonel Sandurz should go down with the ship.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is a parody of Emperor Palpatine, clearly making him far too comedic to be PE or NPE.
- He is shown to be affable towards his assistants, engaging in positive interactions with them, unlike Palpatine, who only cared for himself and was ready to abuse his underlings.
Trivia[]
- While his original counterpart Palpatine was a Pure Evil, Skroob was Inconsistently Heinous due to being affable and comedic.
- Both him and Dark Helmet, who are both the main antagonists of Spaceballs, are approved as IH.
