Nowl-Ahn, also known as Omni-Man and Nolan Grayson, is the deuteragonist of the Amazon Prime television series Invincible, based on Robert Kirkman's Image Comics series of the same name. He is the father of Mark Grayson/Invincible who attempted to make Earth join the Viltrumite Empire.
He was voiced by J.K. Simmons.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- As a member of the Viltrum race, he supported their cause of conquering planets, slaughtering billions of people on their behalf.
- Plans of merging Earth with the Viltrum Empire.
- He used a fake call to lure in and brutally murdered the Guardians of the Globe one-by-one.
- He slowly crushed Red Rushes skull, causing his eyes to pop out. This is made worse by the fact he perceives time way slower.
- He smashed Darkwing's skull against the ground, causing his brain to explode.
- He threw Darkwing's corpse at Green Ghost to trick her into catching him so he could punched through her face and kill her.
- He smashed in Aquaras' head with War Woman's mace.
- He ripped Martian Man's brain apart.
- He snapped War Woman's neck, causing her to cough blood.
- He punched through the Immortal's stomach and then decapitated him after asking why he did what he did.
- He ravaged the planet of the Flaxans, committing genocide on them and even killing the scientists whom he forced to create a portal back to Earth. While they were trying to conquer Earth in the first place, such retribution was way too excessive.
- It’s even implied he does this on a regular basis as Debbie calls fighting aliens in another dimension another Tuesday.
- After finding out that Damien Darkblood went to his house to investigate the murder of the Guardians of the Globe, Nolan told him that he would have him sent to Hell by convincing Cecil to do so, which he does.
- He allowed a dragon to continue to destroy a city and tried to use the situation to manipulate Debbie into trusting him, only to not try to stop it, which would have caused more destruction had it not been for some government planes blowing up the dragon before he could do more damage.
- He kills many GDA agents that broke into his house and attempts to kill Donald Ferguson by crushing his spine, when he finds out he and the GDA were spying on him and the Graysons.
- When Cecil sends Reanimen to kill Nolan, he kills them all by ripping them apart.
- He attempted to kill Cecil multiple times.
- He murders the Immortal again by ripping in half in front of Mark and the whole world.
- He tried to force his son Mark to join him in conquering Earth for the Viltrum Empire.
- He murders an innocent pilot Mark saved a couple of seconds before. He immediately attempted to kill the other pilot until Invincible stopped him.
- During his battle with Mark, Omni-Man brutally kills thousands of innocent people.
- He threw Mark, which caused an entire building to be decimated and an entire street of drivers and pedestrians to be killed. He also blamed Mark for killing them due to his insubordination, therefore gaslighting him.
- In probably his most infamous MEH moment, he forced Mark to kill hundreds by putting him in front of a train, causing it to be destroyed and killing everyone in it.
- He sank an entire ship into the sea.
- He caused an avalanche which destroyed a small village.
- When Mark refused to surrender and for not having the same visions as him, Omni-Man nearly beats him to death stating he’ll make another kid to replace him.
- As a result of his global destruction, Mark earned a bad reputation as "Omni-Man's" son causing multiple villains such as Darkwing’s assistant and the Queen of Atlanthea to target him for revenge and The Husband of Green Ghost to Coldly Kick Debbie out of the Support Group and Powerplex’s seeking Revenge on Mark Which costed his Wife and Son’s life.
- After finding the Thraxans dead, he grabs Mark by the throat and starts squeezing. While he was angry and sad about seeing the people he cared for dead, he had no right to do this to his son Mark and he tried play it off like they shouldn't matter.
- Despite finding redemption on Thraxa, he can still be very lethal and brutal as he disemboweled and impaled Lucan, crushed Vidor's skull, and snapped Thula's jaw, leaving all of them for dead.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is genuinely affable to other people and can make friends and care for others.
- Despite his deceptive and darwinstic nature, he does care and respect for several people in his life:
- He truly cares for both his human and Thraxan family. Though he called Debbie his pet at one point, it later turns out he didn't actually mean this and he genuinely loves her as a person, even later admitting he misses her.
- He cares about the Thraxans and was genuinely sad when the Viltrumites slaughtered much of them.
- He grew to care about Allen the Alien during their time they spent imprisoned in the Viltrumite prison, despite being enemies in the past. He even wanted him to break out the prison, so that he wouldn’t get executed too. After seeing him almost get killed by a Viltrumite executioner, he breaks free from his chains and saves him.
- He has a sense of honor and respects the traditions and values of his society.
- He has good intentions as he genuinely believes that if Earth is conquered by the Viltrumites, its civilization will become a lot more advanced.
- He feels remorse for his actions after his son told him that he was the only person left he cared for 500 years. He also redeemed himself and atoned his crimes, saving Thraxan pilots from diving in the Black Hole, started a new life, and tried to protect Thraxa from Viltrum Empire. After Allen saved him from execution, he ultimately joins the cause against the Viltrum Empire full time.
Trivia[]
- His original comic incarnation is not Inconsistently Heinous due to lacking many of the TV show’s more brutal and unique crimes like the Flaxan genocide and the mass murder of civilians during the Invincible fight.
