The Nothing serves as the main antagonist of the 1979 German fantasy novel (or more of so, the first half of the novel) Die unendliche Geschichte (The Neverending Story), and its 1984 film adaptation of the same name. It is a destructive entity that begins to destroy segments of Fantasia in order to destroy the realm as a whole and everyone in it while managing to suck some of its inhabitants into it.

What Makes It Heinous?[]
- It begins destroying Fantasia from place to place with the intent of destroying Fantasia and everyone in it until nothing is left, essentially attempting omnicide.
- Along the way, it pulls several of the Rock Biter's friends and destroys them.
- When it encounters Atreyu and Falkor, it attempts to pull them in and destroy them, resulting in Atreyu falling off Falkor and the two getting lost.
- After having destroyed most of Fantasia, it attempts to destroy the Ivy Tower that Atreyu and the Empress are in only for Bastian to finally realize what he has to do and give her a name before the Nothing could complete its quest of destruction.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- While established as a destructive entity, it isn't really given any characterization with no traits nor motives, making it a generic doomsday villain.
