Mukuro Ikusaba is the main protagonist of the spinoff story Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc IF.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- She committed all the same crimes as the mainline Mukuro, this includes:
- Slaughtering an entire middle school.
- Forcing the Student council members to kill each other and even shoots one of them dead for refusing to participate.
- Lobotomizing Chisa Yukizome.
- Killing two members of the Steering Committee, the Madarai siblings, & likely countless others at Hope's Peak Academy.
- Kidnapping the loved ones of her classmates to use as hostages and helping Junko erase their memories.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She genuinely loves her sister despite how horrible she is to her. Even after Junko cuts ties with Mukuro through her "I love you" speech, Mukuro states she doesn’t plan on leaving her sister alone and believes the despair of destroying Junko’s plan will satisfy her. Ironically in some sense, by becoming sworn enemies determined to kill one another, Mukuro & Junko have grown closer than before despite Junko insisting on the contrary.
- She grew to become attached to Makoto due to him being the first person to ever smile at her and she even considered begging Junko to spare him during the Killing Game, with her becoming hesitant of following her third Free Time Event where they have the discussion on chasing dreams. When Makoto endures the Spears of Gungnir in her place, she actively fights to keep him alive until he is in the arms of someone trustworthy, then pledges to undo the Killing School Life and all of the despair she's spread with her sister once Junko gives her "I love you" speech in the infirmary.
- Her insecurities about pleasing her sister and longing for affection via Makoto are played for sympathy. As is Junko’s abuse towards her.
- But the most important reason why she can’t be NPE unlike her original counterpart is that she begins putting herself on the path of redemption by helping her classmates escape the school and foil Junko’s plan. She was even willing accept the consequences of her involvement in the Tragedy, even if she does not truly feel guilt for the countless atrocities she has committed (or at least as of yet).
