Mr. Twitchell is the main antagonist of the 1992 TV special Frosty Returns.

He was voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He creates an ærosol spray called Summer Wheeze that makes snow vanish and sells it all across the town of Beansboro to completely eradicate snow from the town (and potentially the world as well, given that he mentions that his plan will cause snow tires to become "ancient history"), ending winter for good. The spray is shown to be very powerful and dangerous to snow, as it gives Frosty a painful sting when he touches it for the first time, and when he gets sprayed with it again later on, the spray makes a big hole in his body.
    • He even consistently insists that his scheme would cause him to become a king, making him egotistical.
    • While his product could hypothetically be used for good, as it can be useful to only get rid of the inconvenient snow that covers the streets, thereby reducing the likelihood of accidents, Twitchell is not an extremist, as he intends to completely eradicate snow, rather than just deal with what's inconvenient.
    • Furthermore, while the long-term effects of using Summer Wheeze could be considered Fridge Horror due to it being unknown if it has anything potentially environmentally degrading in it, Twitchell doesn't rely on this to be heinous, as the special points out that the mere absence of snow alone is environmentally damaging enough because Charles explains in his school presentation that snow is a major source of water, and without it, all life on Earth would go extinct.
  • When one of his employees tries to point out the environmental consequences of using Summer Wheeze, he orders his cat, Bones, to open a trapdoor beneath her, proving that he does not care about the product's effects on the environment.
  • He sends trucks out to spray Summer Wheeze all over the streets of Beansboro, wiping snow out rapidly.
  • Upon noticing Frosty dancing, he orders Bones to follow him into the winter carnival and spray him with Summer Wheeze. This nearly kills Frosty, who only survives by hiding in the ice castle. Even so, the Summer Wheeze makes a big hole in his body and gradually causes him to melt.
  • He sends his trucks to spray all the snow at the winter carnival, leaving it completely empty of snow (save for Frosty and the ice castle).
  • When the winter carnival's attendees take Frosty's side that snow is important, he tries to drive one of his trucks into the crowd, willing to harm people just to get after Frosty.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has a few comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as him breaking the fourth wall, ordering the music to stop, and his humiliating defeat where he crashes his truck into a frozen pond and falls into the cold water.
  • He redeems himself after Frosty gives him his crown and cape, as he develops a change of heart and willingly decides to go on the toboggan ride and decides to rebrand his company, discontinuing Summer Wheeze and instead opting to make sleds.
