~ Mitsuru Shinehara to his audience before showing Mordecai, Rigby and Benson Dunwoody what happens to his show's losers. |
Mitsuru Shinehara is the main antagonist of the Regular Show episode "Fool Me Twice".
He is a Japanese announcer who hosts the game show Fool Me Once, Shame on You, Fool Me Twice, I Punch Your Face, in which contestants have to fool him twice before surviving the Baka Blitz, a difficult obstacle course. However, Shinehara actually punches his contestants lethally in their faces if they lose, which is always, as no one has ever beat the Baka Blitz until Mordecai, Rigby and Benson Dunwoody come to his show.
He was voiced by Andrew Kishino, who also voiced Janja in The Lion Guard.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He killed his contestants when punching them in the face for failing to complete the Baka Blitz just because he doesn't like being fooled by them, even though that's exactly his game show's premise.
- He killed at least seven contestants before the episode's events, though Rigby implied that many more have died when he and Mordecai tell Benson that no one has ever won Fool Me Once, Shame on You, Fool Me Twice, I Punch Your Face, and that a competitor interviewed on television is mentioned to be the sole survivor of the show, though he was disfigured presumably for life. With his punches:
- He killed two contestants at different points of the game, with one of them even nodding at him, perhaps in an attempt to dissuade Shinehara from punching him.
- He killed two other contestants as they fell off a tube, even though they were likely still competing.
- He killed three contestants as they were still playing.
- He had Clive, his latest contestant before the Park employees came to his show, knocked into a wasabi pool before killing him when he admitted that he was giving up.
- He had Announcer-Bot force Mordecai, Rigby and Benson to enter into the Baka Blitz despite them wanting to go back on their decision and leave after seeing the "Punching of Liars" video montage, which depicted all of Mitsuru's onscreen victims.
- He cruelly laughed at Mordecai and Rigby alongside Announcer-Bot when they got hurt in the Baka Blitz.
- He got into the obstacle course's bridge and tried to murder Mordecai, Rigby and Benson with his enlarged fist as they got close to reach the Mystery Prize just to make sure no one claims it, genuinely shocking his audience in the process.
- It's heavily implied that Announcer-Bot was programmed by Mitsuru to commit suicide if someone ever managed to win the show, as Announcer-Bot gave the Mystery Prize to Mordecai, Rigby and Benson before blowing himself up as he swears "Gomen'nasai Shinehara-senpai", which is translated as "I'm sorry, master Shinehara", even in spite that Announcer-Bot was anything but loyal to him.
- Despite the show's Heinous Standards being high, Mitsuru Shinehara stands out due to all the deaths he causes for sadism while having less resources than other villains.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too comedic to be PE or NPE as all of his crimes are played for black comedy.
