~ Mina to the High Commission. |
Mina Loveberry is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Ludo Avarius) of the Disney XD/Disney Channel animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
She is a former Mewni warrior and the last great "Solarian" super-warrior left before she and Moon Butterfly created an army of Solarian super-warriors. She plans to assassinate Queen Eclipsa and wipe out the monster population in Mewni.
She is voiced by Amy Sedaris.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- Whilst she has a semi sympathetic backstory. In which for the first part of her life, she was living in a village that was terrorized by monsters that had their homes stolen. Then, the queen she respected turned her into an unstable and bloodthirsty warrior who still thinks she's protecting them and then she saw her queen die, causing her to feel obligated to continue her idol's mission, all while going even more insane than before. Characters in the show directly call out Mina for being responsible for her own actions and refusing to stop even when Solaria disapproved of her actions.
- Upon learning that Earth didn't have a ruler, she tried to take over the planet. She also planned on throwing several people off of a cliff.
- When Star hosted a party for monsters, Mina kidnapped several of the guests and locked them in a closet, intending on executing them later. When Star tried to reason with her, she refused to listen.
- After Meteora Butterfly learned about her true origins, Mina tried to kill her when she was in a highly emotional and therefore vulnerable state. Although Meteora was a villain as well, this was still a cruel action and something Star tried to prevent her from doing. When Star once again attempted to reason with Mina, she tried to kill her too, despite apparently seeing her as somewhat of a friend when they last interacted.
- Angered that Eclipsa became queen again and was letting monsters live peacefully with the Mewmans, Mina tried to get rid of her by using yada yada berries, which would turn her to stone.
- She wanted Moon to help her restart the dangerous Solarian Program in order to kill Eclipsa and rule Mewni once again.
- Upon building her suit of armor, she threatened the Magic High Comission to stay out of her way as she sent another warrior to attack the monster village. Said warrior injured Globgor with his sword, causing a fatal wound to slowly and painfully spread across his entire body. The warrior then came close to killing Eclipsa and when Star and her allies fought him, he injured many of them with his sword as well. One of them died from his wounds later and the others were still incapacitated and in extreme pain. This makes Mina indirectly responsible for the death of one character and the suffering of several others.
- Mina and hundreds of Solarian warriors invaded the monster village, warning Star that she should surrender Eclipsa to her. When she confronted the protagonists later and Moon told her that Eclipsa already surrendered, Mina still wanted to kill her and her family.
- When Moon attempted to remove the powers of the Solarians, but failed, Mina trapped her, Star, Marco, Eclipsa, and Meteora and attempted to kill them all with her sword.
- She had her warriors capture every monster and monster sympathizer they could find. After all of the monsters were captured, Mina planned on executing them by throwing them off of a cliff. She even sadistically threatened Buff Frog's young children about how they were going to be killed, making them cry. The only reason why she didn't kill them all right there is because she wanted to find Globgor first so he could die with his people.
- Upon learning that Globgor was being taken to the Magic Sanctuary to be healed, Mina had her warriors destroy it.
- The spells placed on the Solarian warriors were supposed to make them more ruthless and unstable, thus removing their empathy in the process. This could explain some of Mina's more immoral actions and give her moral agency issues. However, when the other Solarian warriors had their powers removed, they felt a lot less hateful and felt remorse for their actions. Mina remained remorseless and her personality was the exact same, revealing she was just that hateful .
- As she was being attacked by the corrupted millhorse, she begged Solaria to save her only for her queen to look at her with disgust for trying to kill her family, showing just how far she truly went.
- Whilst Mina was initially extremely loyal to Solaria, she later goes so far as to attempt to kill Solaria's daughter and grandchild, and refuses to stop even when Solaria's ghost directly called Mina out for trying to kill her family, Mina refused to stop. This shows Mina is more loyal to Solaria's anti monster ideals than Solaria herself.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is an extremist because she does seem to genuinely believe that getting rid of monsters and people who support them would help improve Mewni and she didn't really attack anyone who shared her ideals. She also repaired and guarded Butterfly Castle and seemed concerned when the warrior she sent possibly died.
- She has many moments where she is too comedic, especially when she first appeared, which makes it hard for her to be taken seriously all the time.
- She is rather affable to people she doesn't see as enemies and was respectful towards Moon until she tried to stop her plans.
