Megatronus Prime is the titular main protagonist of the Transformers One fanfic What If Megatronus Prime Survived? by Viktor Redd Mikhailov.
Like his original counterpart, he was once a member of the Thirteen Primes until the betrayal and murder at the hands of Sentinel Prime. Upon being revived by Primus, Megatronus finds out that Sentinel is responsible for the acts in the first place, leading him to a darker path.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Upon being revived by Primus and finding out Sentinel is responsible for the betrayal and murder of the Thirteen Primes, he tracks the false Prime down by going to Iacon to kill him.
- After arriving at Iacon, he crushes Sentinel's leg before trying to shoot him with his blaster.
- After hesitating to kill Sentinel, he brutally murders him by impaling his head with his spear and tears his body apart.
- While completely justified at first, this act later becomes inexcusable.
- Upon killing Sentinel, he reveals to the High Guard that Iacon is filled with Sentinel's lies before ordering them to destroy the city.
- After Optimus arrives at Iacon, he challenges him to a fight, which resulted in Megatronus losing his faceplate and his eye.
- His acts broke the fragile friendship between Optimus Prime and D-16 / Megatron as the latter chose to follow the High Guard's path.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is far too tragic and sympathetic to be NPE as he and the other Primes were betrayed and murdered by Sentinel Prime just like his original counterpart. After being revived by Primus, Megatronus finds out that Sentinel is responsible for the betrayal and the murder of his fellow Primes. To make matters worse, he finds out Cybertron has become a barren wasteland. This broke Megatronus to the point where he brutally kills Sentinel Prime, even though he deserved for everything he had done.
- This also makes him a villain by proxy as Sentinel's acts drove him to villainy and not by his own choice.
- He genuinely loved his brothers and his girlfriend, Solus, as the reason why he killed Sentinel was to avenge their deaths. He also cared for his apprentice, D-16/Megatron, as he told him to stay back as he is about to fight against Optimus Prime. He also made him his second-in-command and allowed him to choose between him and Optimus before he departed.
- He holds some standards as he is infuriated when Sentinel not only betrayed and murdered the Thirteen Primes, but also enslaved the Cybertronians by stripping their transformation cogs away.
Trivia[]
- He is the only incarnation of Megatronus / The Fallen to be Inconsistently Heinous so far.
- This version of Megatronus Prime has some similarities to Aggie Prenderghast from the 2012 film ParaNorman.
- Both became enraged over being taken away from someone close to them (Solus Prime in Megatronus's case, Mildred Prenderghast in Aggie's case).
- Both punished those responsible for their misfortunes (Aggie by having the Seven Judges as zombies, Megatronus by paralyzing and decapitating Sentinel).
- While Aggie eventually found peace and moved on, Megatronus allowed his inner darkness to consume him, causing him to rebrand himself as The Fallen.
- Him and Shattered Glass Optimus Prime are the only Primes to be Inconsistently Heinous.
