| NOTE: This is about the version of Heisei Mechagodzilla from the Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II Shogakukan Manga adaption by Shiduhken as it's Movie nor the Kodansha Manga adaption versions do not qualify as Inconsistently Heinous |
Mechagodzilla or Super Mechagodzilla is the main antagonist in the Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II Manga adaption by Shogakukan. Like it's movie counterpart it was built to defend humankind from Godzilla.
Unlike it's movie incarnation it would go berserk from Mecha-King Ghidorah's programming attempting to brutally kill Godzilla and Rodan with attempting to kill BabyGodzilla.
Its Evil Ranking[]
What Makes It Heinous?[]
In General[]
- Despite having to compete with SpaceGodzilla, and Destoroyah, it stands out for the unique crime of attempted infanticide with it's attempted killing of BabyGodzilla.
- Although while it is true SpaceGodzilla and Destoroyah also tried to harm him themselves, SpaceGodzilla merely imprisoned him while Destoroyah killed him as the teenager Godzilla Junior so Mechagodzilla would still stand out regardless since it tried to kill him as a literal newborn.
- While it originally a piloted mecha, it has a AI Program to allow it to do his worse actions on it’s own that is enough to qualify.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II[]
- In the opening of the Manga, it would use it's cross attack beam in the G-Force HQ blasting a massive hole in it and endangering it’s personal.
- Although it originally brought down Godzilla for justified reasons G-Force merely wished to bring him him to custody unlike the film, however it would override control and attempt to brutally kill Godzilla ripping his dorsal fins in half making him roar in pain.
- Like in film it killed Fire Rodan but unlike in the film, Rodan was shown to be more benevolent and sympathetic where he attempted to protect BabyGodzilla much like in the film making it less justified here.
- It would attempt to kill BabyGodzilla twice when it detected it as it would attempt to blast before Godzilla intervened and making it nearly blow the monster king's head off. When it tried a second time at point blank it would almost fire only to be stopped by a revived Godzilla from Fire Rodan's energy.
- It would attempt to self-destruct to kill Godzilla in a last ditch effort which ends up endangering it's pilots and nearly got them all killed.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- It’s a hero by the narrative and it's actions were the result of Mecha-King Ghidorah's programming corrupting it's AI giving it severe moral agency issues.
- It also make it a Villain by Proxy since it was due to it's programming making it trying to kill Godzilla, Rodan and BabyGodzilla.
- It has little characterization due to it mostly spend it's time as a piloted mecha and when it gained a agency it only characterization is to kill Godzilla, making it a "Generic Doomsday" Villain.
- It is well intended extremist to do it’s job protecting humankind from Godzilla.
Trivia[]
- It is so far the only version of Mechagodzilla to be Inconsistently Heinous as the rest are heroic, completely controlled by others, or both.
- It and Monsters & Protectors Godzilla are the only Godzilla Inconsistently Heinous to be Non-Villains.
