“ | May your heart be your guiding key. | „ |
~ The Master of Masters' most famous catchphrase. |
“ | Well, I could lie and tell you I'm a fortune teller, when I'm actually a brilliant artist, or even a scholar. I could tell you that I dream of world peace, when I'm actually planning for its destruction. The truth is what you see with your eyes, not what you hear. | „ |
~ The Master of Masters talking to Xehanort. |
The Master of Masters is the overarching antagonist of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, serving as the overarching antagonist of the Dark Seekers Saga and possibly the main antagonist of the upcoming Lost Masters Saga.
He is a Keyblade Master who is gifted with the power of foresight. He is the author of the Book of Prophecies, the mentor of Ira, Aced, Invi, Ava, Gula and Luxu, and the one responsible for the Keyblade War and the one who drove Xehanort to a path of Darkness.
He is voiced by Ray Chase in the English version and Tomozaku Sugita in the Japanese version.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He created the Book of Prophecies after foreseeing the future, and gave each of his students (except Luxu) a copy of every page from the book while giving them their role, however he intentionally gives them conflicting roles to cause conflict among them.
- He took out his own eye and placed it in his Keyblade, something that even disgusted Luxu.
- He gave Luxu his Keyblade and a secret box that he doesn’t want Luxu to open. Although, the Master does indulge Luxu's curiosity and tells him what lies within the box.
- He revealed the truth of the Keyblade War and the existence of Darkness as an entity to Luxu, revealing that he plans on having Luxu, himself, and the Fortellers possessed by the seven strongest Darknesses and they are to be sacrifices something that shocks and horrifies Luxu
- Due to manipulating the Fortellers with the page about the Tratiors and giving them conflicting roles he is entirely responsible for the Keyblade War happening as well as Daybreak Town’s destruction which makes him responsible for all those deaths
- He met Xehanort in the Corridor of Darkness and gave him a black coat to protect him from the Darkness. By the time he and Xehanort reunited in the Keyblade Graveyard, he told Xehanort to believe solely in what he believes, and he told him that he will one day become stronger enough to control the darkness without the coat. Thus, this makes him directly responsible for leading Xehanort to a path of darkness.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is a well-intentioned extremist as he doesn’t want darkness to prevail, and when he made the seven pods for the seven lights, and told Ava to gather Keyblade wielders from many unions and make them spread the light to many other worlds, therefore it was to call a temporary truce between light and darkness.
- Despite the fact that he caused the Keyblade War, he has some comedic moments where he is not taking seriously, such as his child-like quirks.
- He is very affable and kind to his students in spite of making them follow their roles written in the Book of Prophecies.
- He has a sympathetic backstory in which he lost many comrades and loved ones during the first Keyblade War which motivates his actions to defeat Darkness for good by being ruthless as possible
