“ | Mario, sometimes you amaze even me...to think that I could kill you and Bowser at the same time, it couldn't have gone any better! Now with both of you out of the picture, I truly am number one!! There's nothing standing in my way! NOTHING! HAHAHAHAHAH!! *sobs* Damn it! | „ |
~ Luigi revealing the true extents of his villainy at the end of the second episode, while also expressing brief remorse for Mario's death. |
Luigi is the main antagonist of Mario and Luigi: Super Anime Brothers, acting as one of two main protagonists of the first and second episodes and as the main antagonist of the third and final episode.
Unlike his mainstream counterpart, this version of Luigi is cold, selfish, and villainous, having killed his brother and taken over the Mushroom Kingdom out of jealousy and spite, and then becoming a murderous king who kills his subjects just for the fun of it.
In his normal form, he was voiced by Florian Walraven, while his anime counterpart was voiced by Blake Swift, who also voiced Mario and Cuphead in Secret History.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He envied Mario for being number one, therefore he wants to kill him in different ways, such as:
- In the first episode, he pretends himself to be drowning in lava by sending Gooigi (a clone of himself), and to trick Mario into jumping into the lava and save him.
- In the second episode, Mario and Luigi is seen fighting Bowser. When they were nearly defeated, Luigi told Mario the only way to defeat Bowser, is to use his new attack, in which he (jokingly) admits he would use it on Mario. However, when this doesn't work and Bowser is still alive, Luigi uses his attack for the second time, after convincing Mario to hold Bowser still, in which two of them gets killed by Luigi's attack. After that, Luigi gloats about his victory and planning to take over the Mushroom Kingdom for himself.
- After his plan of killing of Mario succeeded, he took over the Mushroom Kingdom, and the world.
- He enforces a brutal regime over the world, in which, some of his actions directly or indirectly influenced Wario and his rag-tag team (except for Wario, since his backstory had nothing to do with Luigi). The following:
- Toad: Two of Luigi's soldiers entered Toad's house and demanded them money. When Toad's dad gave all they had, the soldier made him to choose only one Toad to live. And of course he chose Toad, which leaves two of his brothers to be killed by the other soldier.
- Chain Chomp: Chomp's friends went to war against Luigi and his army, and left Chomp with chains to make sure he doesn't get hurt because he's too young. After years, Wario came and told him that his friends never made it back, thus recruiting him to fight back.
- Waluigi: Waluigi likes playing tennis, and always win the first place, until Luigi issued the law which tennis was illegal. This upsets Waluigi much, until Wario helped him to get back on his feet.
- He tried to kill Wario and his team when they tried to stop him.
- Due to how heinous he is, he comes of as one of the most unsympathetic villains of Mashed.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- The series is entirely played for dark comedy, parodying JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece, so none of the characters were to be taken seriously (the same can be said for Luigi himself).
- Even if he envied and killed him, he still somewhat cares for his brother Mario as he feels remorse for killing him. Although he still continued his plan to take over the world, this brief scene of remorse is never fully subverted.
