Ludociel is a major character in the anime/manga series The Seven Deadly Sins, first appearing in the flashbacks of the Memories of the Holy War arc, and later in the New Holy War arc.
He was a Goddess who served the Supreme Deity as the leader of the Four Archangels and older brother of Mael. He also took over the body of Margaret Liones, one of the Princess of the Kingdom of Liones, using it to lead against the Demon Race in the New Holy War.
He is voiced by Akira Ishida in Japanese and Jordan Reynolds in English. While in Margaret's body, he is voiced by Nana Mizuki in Japanese, and by Dorothy Elias-Fahn in English.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
In General[]
- In general, he is a barbaric and xenophobic tyrnat who believes Demons deserve to die and considers them an inferior race.
The Seven Deadly Sins[]
- Tries to ruin Elizabeth’s relationship for being in a relationship with Meliodas, a demon.
- Ordered a massacre on an entire human village just because a boy named Rou was harboring one baby Grey Demon that didn’t do anything wrong. Only 4 survivors were spared from this and later took revenge by massacring some members of Stigma.
- Kidnapped about thousands of Demons (including Derieri’s sister) who weren’t involved with the war and held them hostage just to bait the Demon Clan and kill them all in front of the their comrades to spite them. This is made worst by the fact that Elizabeth was attempting to make peaceful negotiations with the Demon Clan and made it look like she purposefully betrayed them.
- Attacked the Ten Commandments and took joy in toying around with them.
- Tried to kill Monspeet and Derieri while they were vulnerable and when Elizabeth and even the other 2 archangels were trying to save their lives.
- Possessed Elizabeth’s sister, Margaret, although she did agree through an deal to save Gilthunder, he used it during in the war and was stated it would've killed her if he remained in there too long stated by Sariel it would've caused harm to her overtime as side effects happen when a goddess uses a vessel for long periods of time.
- Attacked and tried to kill Escanor under the baseless assumption that he had stolen Mael’s power until he cleared things up.
- Despite the high Heinous Standards of the series, he stands out for being partially responsible for the Demon Clan’s hatred in the first place and getting countless innocent citizens wrapped up in the war.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Is a well-intentioned extremist who wants to end the Holy War.
- Cares greatly for his siblings and was mainly motivated by avenging his brother who he thought was killed by the Demon Clan.
- He is tragic due to thinking he had his younger brother Mael killed by the Demon Clan, who he loved deeply by an brainwashing spell.
- He redeems himself and becomes an ally towards all races when Hendrickson befriends him.
Trivia[]
- Lucodiel and Meliodas are the only Seven Deadly Sins Inconsistently Heinous to be also an Inconsistently Admirable.
