You were always the best. Nobody even came close. You defined the art, and it defines you. Yours actions have changed the world. Powerful men have fallen by your hand; but by the same token, others have risen. Do you realized what kind of world you've been shapping? Does the ICA? Does your handler? I live in that world. I have seen the consequences. I have felt the cost. That's what defines me.
~ Lucas Grey's monologue to Agent 47 in the "Legacy" cutscene in HITMAN
Tell the Constant to start running!
~ Grey's final words before killing himself
Grey: Rose is gone.
Hall: It was me, wasn't it? They tracked me. I don't believe it. I took every precaution.
Grey: Rose knew the risks. They all do. You did well Olivia, I am proud of you. Now listen. The ICA knows about you. They kept you alive because they needed you and now they don't. We won't talk again. Not until this storm is over.
Hall: I don't like it. This man, you know what he's capable of. You need to end this now!
Grey: I ran away as a boy. My friend and I. Away from that... place. We came upon a small farming community. The people were dirt-poor but this woman, she took us in. We were awakened the next morning by the shots. A dozen people lay face down in the snow... Our warden--didn't like to leave witnesses. They shot the woman and her family last and made sure that we watched the whole thing. 'This is your gift,' the warden told us. 'Your gift and your curse.' ... 'Touching lives only by ending them.'
Hall: You know him.
Grey: Better than anyone.
~ Lucas Grey comforting Olivia Hall and telling her his backstory

Subject 6 also known as Lucas Grey or the Shadow Client, is the anti-villainous tritagonist of the World of Assassination trilogy in the Hitman video game series, serving as the main antagonist of HITMAN, and one of the two anti-villainous tritagonists (alongside Olivia Hall) of HITMAN 2 and HITMAN III.

He is one of the clone assassins created by Dr. Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer just like Agent 47, his best friend.

After escaping from Dr. Ort-Meyer, Grey started his private militia and manipulated the ICA to eliminate Providence, the true organization behind his creation. Upon reawakening 47's memory and revealing his true identity, Grey worked with 47 to take down Providence.

He was voiced by John Hopkins.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

Background[]

  • Became a mercenary and participated in conflicts such as Chechna and Sierra Leone.
  • Assassinated Eugene Cobb in a plane after finding out he was a Providence operative then leaves the plane to crash while parachuting out.
  • Created the private militia to help him in his war against Providence, hiring a bunch of depraved people who were terrorists, drug dealers, hackers, thieves, or arsonists.

HITMAN[]

  • Anonymously tasked 47 and Diana Burnwood to assassinate Viktor Novikov, Dahlia Margolis, Silvio Caruso, Francesca De Santis, Reza Zaydan, Claus Standberg, Jordan Cross, and Ken Morgan, who all somewhat had a link with Providence.
  • Killed Providence herald Hajun in his car and stole his key.
  • Robbed the Providence bank vault in New York with Cobb and Hajun's keys and stole data about Providence.
  • Had Sean Rose and other private militia members kidnap and assassinate Thomas Cross at his son's funeral.

HITMAN 2[]

  • Had Alma Reynard kidnap Lance Donavan's family and blackmail him over them to go kill his boss Rupert Pierce.
  • In the "Dead Ends" cutscene, it shows that hundreds of Providence operatives have been assassinated by Grey and his militia around the world.
  • Convinced Drug Cartel leader Rico Delgado to join him by telling him he would get in exchange the man who killed his uncle and cousin, 47.
  • Kidnapped chief biochemist Oscar Wong and had Rico interrogating him.
  • In the "Untouchable" cutscene, he's shown robbing a tower under Providence's control and stealing an unknown chemical, and then straps a bomb on a tied up scientist to blow up the tower in order to cover his tracks.
  • Went to Ether headquarters in Germany to steal data about Providence and kidnap Neleis De Waal.
  • Recorded a hostage tape with De Waal to outer Providence's identity to the world.
  • After convincing 47 and Diana to join him, he had them assassinate Janus and his security inspector Nolan Cassidy at Whittelton Creek, and steal data about Providence to locate the Constant.

HITMAN III: Shadows in the Water:[]

  • Had 47 assassinate Noel Crest and Sinhi Venthan at Ambrose Island for taking over the private militia, betraying him, and stocking data about Providence.

HITMAN 2 Continued:[]

  • With 47's help, had the Washington twins assassinated and the Constant kidnaped at the Isle of Sgail.
  • Had 47 stealing data in the New York bank to locate the Partners and assassinating Athena Salvalas.
  • Had 47 assassinate the cartel of Haven Island who were dealing with the Partners.

HITMAN III[]

  • Oversaw 47's assassinations of the Partners Carl Ingram and Marcus Stuyvesant at Dubai.
    • 47 can trigger a meeting with Carl and Marcus inside a living room and then trigger a call with Grey. Grey will say that the killing of the two partners isn't personal and why he has been killing everyone at Providence and how much he hates the organization and wants it dead and then orders 47 to finish them off before signing off.
  • Had 47 assassinate Alexa Carlisle at Dartmoor, allowing Edwards to become the new leader of Providence.
  • Shoots and kills a CICADA mercenary.
  • Kills himself to avoid punishment and to stop 47 from revealing himself.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is very tragic, as both he and 47 were raised harshly in and out of Colorado to become what they are today, and when their warden retrieved them, he killed everyone and they knew and killed the woman who helped them while forcing them to watch, he also witnessed 47 sacrifice himself to save him before his memories are wiped out.
  • He is a genuine extremist and an anti-villain as no matter how evil his deeds are, his hate towards Providence is totally justified for stealing his and 47's lives.
  • While he doesn't care much about most of his associates he does have some people he cares about:
    • 47, who was a brother to him and the two made a pact to destroy Providence before 47 lost his memories, and after reuniting the duo got along well. and even in his final moments he killed himself to protect 47 from blowing his cover.
    • Olivia Hall, whom he tried to comfort when she thought 47 was looking after her.
    • Diana Burnwood, whom he was sincere with concerning the death of her parents.
