“ | Hey. Not so special anymore, huh? Well, guess what? Nobody ever told me I was special. I never got a trophy just for showing up. I'm not some special little snowflake. No. But, as unspecial as I am, you are a thousand, billion times more unspecial than me. | „ |

Lord Business, also known as President Business, is the main antagonist of the 2014 computer-animated film The LEGO Movie and a minor character in its 2019 sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
He is a ruthless dictator of Bricksburg who wanted to destroy the realm by gluing it together with the powerful superweapon known as the "Kragle" so no one can be creative ever again. He is also the former archenemy of Emmet Brickowski.
He was voiced by Will Ferrell.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He wanted to rid of creativity by building walls and ordering Bad Cop to hunt down the Master Builders.
- It is strongly implied that because Octan, his company, made voting machines, he used them to cheat in the presidential election.
- In a flashback, he captured Captain MetalBeard's crew and even destroyed his body, leaving only his head and organs intact.
- He kicked Vitruvius down after hearing the prophecy.
- He murdered Good Cop by erasing his face with Nail Polish Remover and forced Bad Cop to Kragle his parents.
- It’s implied he even threatened to use the Kragle on Bad Cop when he angrily asked him if he was "gonna be stuck having a tea-party with his mom and dad”.
- Orders Bad Cop to kill Emmet and retrieve the Piece of Resistance, which leads to many deaths and the destruction of UniKitty's home, Cloud Cuckoo Land.
- He captured all the Master Builders over the years and brought them to his Think Tank, torturing them into giving him information for his plans.
- He murdered Vitruvius in front of Emmet and the others from backside by decapitating him with a penny and laughs about it.
- Although this didn’t kill him immediately, it still shows his true nature.
- He activated the Think Tank's self-destruction sequence to kill all the Master Builders, and abandoned Bad Cop and the Skeletrons inside to die, even though they never turned on him and it was completely unnecessary for his plans, whilst forcing Emmet to watch his hometown be subject to a fate worse than death.
- When he arrived in Bricksburg, he started freezing many people with Kragle, leaving them to a fate worse than death, planning to do this to the entire LEGO universe.
- He incapacitated Emmet with the Kragle while taunting him over his friends being in danger.
- Though he ultimately changed his ways, he receives no punishment for his crimes, and even post-redemption, he is still shown to be a massive coward as once the LEGO Duplo aliens start ravaging the city, he left everyone to their fates so he can go play golf.
- While he was insecure as nobody told him he was special in his life, it is not played for sympathy in any way, nor does it justify any of his actions whatsoever, despite the fact Emmett sympathizes with by telling him that everyone is special, including Business himself.
- Unlike Rex Dangervest, he doesn’t rely on Fridge Horror and freezing people with Kragle is actually confirmed to put people in an “and I must scream” fate.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- After listening to Emmet's speech about he's special too, he hugs Emmet while sincerely thanking him and destroys the Kragle before using the antidote to free the people who had been Kragled, redeeming himself and fulfilling his insecurities in the process.
- This has been proven to be genuine too, as in the second film, he is shown to be of no threat and continues his redemption.
- He is never shown abusing his robot henchman, and he is generally nice to them and is a great boss to them, and even gave them compliments most of the time.
- He has a few comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as saying that his Tentacle Arm Kragle Outside Sprayer machine is an acronym for TAKOS with the S being silent, when he talks about why Emmet's bunk bed idea is stupid and when he says he needs to put a sound shuffle in his Kragle Machine that he "could hug with his arms and his legs and feel the beat".
