Krusto D. Clown is the main antagonist of the Season 34 non-canonical Halloween special "Treehouse of Horror Presents: Not It" of The Simpsons.
He is a demonic, murderous and horrific clown of unknown origin who terrorizes the city of Kingsfield, preying on its children, whom he devours so they can be his eternal audience to listen to his jokes. Around the 1980s, Krusto targets Homer Simpson and his friends, the members of the Losers' Club, but is bested by them, leading Krusto to wait until they grow up to attack again.
Like his original version, he was voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He targeted kids because no one ever laughed at his jokes, which isn't a valid excuse to commit gruesome kills.
- He terrorized the town of Kingfield every 27 years to devour its children, having killed dozens over this period. Although this can count as offscreen villainy, the effects of his actions are shown in the missing posters of all his victims, with the town having a sign that says that it's an ideal place to bury kids and two residents discussing how their kids disappear so quickly.
- After killing his victims, Krusto kept their souls at his lair, brainwashing them be his audience and laugh at his poor jokes to empower himself, making this a fate worse than death, as they are unable to move on to Heaven.
- He killed Barney Gumble by making it look he is delivering him back his "SS Barney" paper boat at his spot in the sewers only to bite him his arm and drag him to his death.
- He targeted the members of the Losers' Club by psychologically scaring them at their houses with things they fear, like:
- Filling Marge Bouvier's bathroom from the mirror with Seltzer to drown her.
- Trying to cut Moe Szyslak as a ventriloquist dummy while mocking him by saying that he is sleeping with his mother, upsetting Moe.
- Spitting acid on Carl Carlson's sci-fi magazine and then on his bed disguised as a female alien trying to hit him.
- Appearing as Comic Book Guy's late grandmother in a hot tub full of worms, which was so disturbing Moe even mentioned not to have the flashback shown.
- He tried to kill the Losers by jumping out of a projector screen, grabbing Comic Book Guy and attempting to devour him before Homer stabbed his double chin with gardening scissors.
- He disguised himself as a candy box to trick the Losers, trying to kill them with his own hands when they went to the abandoned Channel 14.
- He set up a fake cake shop which attracted the attention of Jimbo Jones, Kearney Zzyzwicz, Dolph Starbeam and Nelson Muntz, who tried to bully him, leading Krusto to throw a pie that destroys Jimbo's face, bite Nelson to death and presumably mutilate his corpse, make balloons animals with Dolph's ripped intestines and suffocate Kearney with hankies to the point police were still pulling them out.
- He possibly haunted Comic Book Guy in his nightmares by reminding him that he is a coward who doesn't want to help his old friends in defeating Krusto as originally promised.
- He kidnapped Bert and Lizzie Anderson, Marge's and Comic Book Guy's children, to hold them hostage in a cage at his Channel 14 hideout to lure the Losers into coming to his place, telling them about this through their iPhones and then blowing them into balloons and exploding.
- He resorted to torment the Losers with their current anxieties now that they got over their childhood phobias, scaring all five of them with a walking student loan paper, a devilish doctor with a long finger, a woman holding an identical baby to Moe, a book full of problematic Tweets that fly over their heads and a flaming man wishing to talk about politics with a turkey.
- He cruelly revealed that Comic Book Guy didn't write the poem that made Marge fall in love with him, which had been actually written by Homer, making Marge feel disappointment for being tricked and disowning him.
- He attempted to devour Marge once Bert and Lizzie told her that she must destroy the sign that makes his audience laugh to free all the souls and defeat him, leading Comic Book Guy to give up his life to save Marge, causing Krusto to mortally bite him.
- His death, while horrifyingly painful, was well-deserved due to all the kids he killed and captured for many years.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too comedic to be Pure Evil or Near Pure Evil, being a parody of It to begin with, in spite of the special's dark nature, having several comedic moments like when Homer stabs him on his double chin, how he hurts himself to make the Losers' Club laugh at him, the ridiculous anxities he summons to taunt the grown-up Losers and how he blames cancel culture as he vanishes into nothingness.
Trivia[]
- In typical "Treehouse of Horror" fashion of parodying pop culture, "Not It" parodies Stephen King's novel It and its 2017-2019 two-part film adaptations, with Krusto D. Clown filling a similar role to that of It, who is Pure Evil.
