Knuckles the Echidna is one of the three tritagonists (alongside Amy Rose and Sticks the Badger) of Sega's Sonic Boom sub-franchise based on their Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
He is an anthropomorphic echidna from Angel Island and is one of Sonic the Hedgehog's best friends. He serves as the muscle of Team Sonic.
He was voiced by Travis Willingham.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He briefly joined Dr. Eggman and imprisoned Team Sonic.
- When he briefly takes over as mayor, he approves multiple orders that conflict with one another, creating chaos within the town. He even tries to make and approve a bill that gives him absolute authority of the law when told he has gone mad with power.
- When he got adopted by Charlie and Belinda, he was convinced to become a villain like them, and while he later redeemed himself after realizing they were using him, he felt no remorse for temporarily becoming a villain.
- When Sonic the Hedgehog suggested to put the chili dog in a blender to calm down Chumley, he mistook the order as putting Chumley in the blender instead and tried to blend him without hesitation, only stopping because Sonic told him he was talking about the chili dog.
- While the heinous standards are high, littered with various mass destroyers, he stands out due to trying to commit infanticide in a uniquely gruesome way while having far less resources than Shadow, Dave, Lyric, and Eggman.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's a hero for most of the time as he protected Seaside Island from dangers such as Dr. Eggman and did far more admirable acts than heinous ones.
- He's shown to care about several people, such as the other members of Team Sonic. Not to mention that, despite his flaws, he's often pretty affable, kind and has a good heart.
- Due to coming from Sonic Boom, he's almost exclusively played for laughs. Even his worst crime of trying to blend Chumley wasn't taken seriously, ultimately being played for black comedy.
- He is occasionally shown to have insecurities, such as in the comics where he felt sad after Amy chastised him for his stupidity.
- He has a legitimately tragic backstory, as he is the last echidna.
- He has moral agency issues due to his extreme stupidity. Even his worst crime of attempting to kill Chumley was done out of incompetence and not malice, as he only did it due to misinterpreting Sonic's suggestion.
- He is a feminist and supports equal rights for women, calmly explaining to Amy that whenever someone calls attention to the breaking of gender roles like Amy just did, it ultimately undermines the concept of gender equality (and the concept of feminism as a whole) by implying it's an exception and not the status quo. He even admits he may be a "meathead", but being dumb doesn't mean he's not able to support women (the correct way, that is.)
Trivia[]
- He, alongside the Sonic the Comic Online! version of Lumina Flowlight, are the only Sonic the Hedgehog Inconsistently Heinous to not be villains.
- In addition, he is the only Inconsistently Heinous from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise to never attempt a wide scale crime (at least intentionally), and is the only Inconsistently Heinous version of Knuckles so far.
