I’m sorry. I only ever wanted to be your friend. Do you forgive me? I suppose this is it. Goodbye, friend
~ Kinito's final words

KinitoPET, or simply Kinito, is the titular main antagonist of the psychological horror game of the same name.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • in the game's bad ending, he traps the player inside the game with him forever, and considering the other characters (Sam and Jade) are both heavily implied to be other people trapped in the game, and honestly, and considering how the bodies distort and what they say, they are clearly in distress and hate what is going on.
    • It is also worth noting that he does this regardless of what you answer
  • in the game's good ending, while being deleted, we see countless other victims of his, as their names quickly flash by on the command control center as he's being deleted, and considering what he tried to do to us, and how he is still around to do this to us, it is safe to say that unlike us, they are all trapped with Kinito forever. He traps people inside the game so they can be his friend.
  • While some of his facial expressions and sprites can be seen as pretty funny or goofy, he is still taken completely seriously by the narrative, and during the games darkest moments (E.g: The hide-and-seek segment, his behavior during later parts of the quiz), He is played for pure horror
  • Despite being an AI, he shows a clear moral agency due to the fact he has grown beyond his programming and shows a clear personality, he also does things he was never programmed to do, like when he forces you to choose between two of your steam friends on who should die.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • His death in the games true/canon ending is played for far too much sympathy for NPE, with an extremely somber and sorrowful track called "Bliss" starting to play as fire burns the PC, and while this is happening, Kinito gives us his final message: "I’m sorry. I only ever wanted to be your friend. Do you forgive me? I suppose this is it. Goodbye, friend." as the game zooms out, all of which is meant to make the player feel extremely bad for Kinito. His desire for a friend and his guilt for what he did are also portrayed sympathetically.
  • He shows immense remorse and asks for forgiveness for his heinous actions before he dies also shows he feels far too much remorse for NPE
  • Despite how extremely twisted and controlling it is, he does genuinely view our character as a friend, with his final words asking if we can forgive him and that he's sorry for what he has done.
  • He is genuinely affable, as despite being highly manipulative and pretty scary, he is still incredibly polite to us in most instances and will even wish us a happy birthday if we so happen to play the game on our birthday, and if you turn on streamer mode, he doesn't expose your address, and at the end, he says hes sorry for what he has done and still refers to us as his friend.
