King Orange is the main antagonist of Season 3 of the AvM Shorts. He is also a minor character in both Season 4 and the Actual Shorts miniseries.

The former master of Purple and leader of a Piglin Brute army, he is a mysterious orange stick figure seeking to gain the Minecraft Game Icon from the Animator's computer to destroy all of Minecraft as revenge for losing his son, Gold, to it.

However, after realizing that he lost his one chance to move on from Gold's death by betraying Purple, King Orange redeems himself and reconciles with his former subject, becoming his surrogate father.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He assaulted the owners of the attraction that Gold died in, almost killing all of them.
  • As revenge for losing Gold, he made it his goal to destroy all of Minecraft using the Minecraft Game Icon.
  • With the help of Purple, he assaulted a bunch of Piglin Brutes, temporarily killing two of them before reviving them, and convinced them all to serve him under the promise of gold as payment.
  • It's implied, although not confirmed, that he manipulated Purple with the promise of helping him find and impress his father, Dark Blue.
  • Even if he did care about him, King Orange was still abusive towards Purple and even left him to die at one point.
  • He trapped the Stick Gang in an endless parkour simulation so Purple could get the Game Icon for him.
  • After learning Green escaped the simulation, he essentially killed a Piglin Brute by wiping his mind through setting his AI to 1, leaving him a lifeless husk.
  • He imprisoned Green after catching him.
  • He killed two Titan Ravagers for simply standing in the way.
    • While it is true he did it to save two Villagers and later played hero in front of them, it was all pragmatic to gain their trust and he planned to kill them all anyway with his black hole.
  • He tried to convince Yellow and Blue to join his side, and temporarily succeeded before Green intervened.
  • He fought Green, Yellow and Blue and trapped them all inside cages, later doing the same to Red.
  • After getting the Game Icon and equipping it onto his staff, he killed three Piglin Brutes, betrayed Purple and then created his black hole to destroy Minecraft, sucking in his own Piglin Brutes to their death.
  • He tried to kill the Second Coming once he attacked him.
  • He left Purple to die at the hands of the Stick Gang when he begged him for help.
  • He was fully willing to kill all of his enemies once they started appearing to fight him, consisting of the Second Coming, the Warden, Red, Endie, Skellington, Spider, Yellow, Blue, a Titan Ravager, Green, the redeemed Purple and Herobrine.
  • He merged two Game Icons into one to create a Double Game Icon and destroy all of Minecraft with a second, much bigger black hole.
  • He killed two of his own Dark Mobs during his fight against the heroes.
  • He started killing off all the mobs the Stick Gang brought in order to stop him, consisting of the Titan Ravager, Skellington, Herobrine, Spider, Endie and the Warden in that order.
  • He expanded his black hole to levels so big it consumed all of Minecraft and killed every single living being in it with the exception of the Second Coming, who managed to save it at the last second.
  • When the Stick Gang and Purple kept attacking him, which was before all of them but the Second Coming died, he tried disintegrating them from existence with his sceptre's beam, and even managed to kill Purple, even if he did try to save him after realizing the error of his ways.
    • It's also obvious this is a painful way to go.
  • While it is true that the Dark Lord tried to destroy the entire Internet, and thus countless worlds, King Orange still stands out as he actually succeeded in his attempt to destroy the Minecraft multiverse while the Dark Lord couldn't even get his ViraBots to enter the Internet.
    • Additionally, the Dark Lord has always had his powers while King Orange had to work to get his, so one could argue there is a resource difference, even if outside media implies that King Orange with the Double Icon is equal to the Dark Lord in power.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He's genuinely tragic, as he was originally a good person who watched his own son die in front of him, and was consumed by his own rage and decided to lash out by destroying all of Minecraft, completely unaware he was harming innocent people and missing out his chances to move on by doing so until it was too late.
  • He loves both Gold and Purple.
    • With Gold, he took care of him all his life, was heartbroken by his death and tried to save him, with his motivation being all about avenging his death. In fact, the reason he redeemed himself is because he realized that he and Purple were similar and he was essentially just letting his child die for the second time.
    • While it was subconscious and he treated him horribly, to the point of killing him, his love for Purple is genuine. When he finally realized how deeply he cared about him, he tried to save him and ultimately apologized for his actions, becoming his surrogate father.
  • After seeing the similarities between Purple and Gold, he not only did he feel remorse after realizing he lost his one chance at moving on from the latter's death, he then redeemed himself by trying to save the former, apologizing for his actions to the heroes, reviving the Titan Ravager's family and ultimately taking in Purple as his surrogate son.

Trivia[]

  • King Orange is very similar to the Dark Lord, one of the series' Pure Evil characters, as both are the main antagonists of a major story arc that were originally good people, are planning an omnicide and have an army of minions at their disposal (the ViraBots for the Dark Lord and both the Piglin Brutes and Dark Mobs for King Orange). The difference being, King Orange was an Average Joe with a sympathetic past who managed to redeem himself and lived as a result, while the Dark Lord was an all-powerful anti-hero who lacked sympathetic qualities and stayed a villain, presumably dying in the process (although this wasn't confirmed).
  • Until the release of the season finale, which showed his tragic backstory and redeemed him, many thought King Orange was going to be either Pure Evil or Near Pure Evil depending if it would be confirmed that his black hole is cataclysmic or not. Ironically, the episode that made him heinous enough was ultimately the episode that made it completely impossible for him to be anything higher than IH.
  • The fictional-fictional version of King Orange seen in "King Orange vs. The Dark Lord" does not qualify for Inconsistently Heinous as he only tries to kill one person in self-defense. While it is possible he committed/wants to commit the same acts as his real counterpart, this was not confirmed and would be off-screen villainy.
