King Leonard Mudbeard is the main antagonist of the 2016 computer-animated film The Angry Birds Movie and the tritagonist of its Sony Pictures Animation-produced 2019 animated sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2. He is the greedy ruler of Piggy Island who seeks to eat Bird Island's eggs with his kingdom.

He was voiced by Bill Hader.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He destroyed Red’s house for no reason, then tried to justify it by saying it was ugly, while hypocritically calling out the birds for destroying his castle later after he did the same thing to Red.
  • After successfully tricking the birds into believing that he merely wanted to befriend them with his pigs, he and his pigs stole all their eggs while activating TNT to prevent them from chasing him, sadistically taunting the birds about this as he laughed and escaped.
  • He tried to get all of the eggs boiled so that he and his kingdom could eat them, despite being told that the eggs contain infant birds inside them as he had been informed of this by one of the birds while he was on Bird Island.
  • When he spotted Red on the net containing the eggs, he had his pigs try to boil him with the eggs.
  • When the birds launched themselves into his kingdom and caused some havoc in it to get their eggs back, he had his subjects try to kill those that are in the city.
  • Upon getting the only remaining egg, he sadistically tried to burn it with a lit candle, laughing as he did so in front of Red.
  • He caused some havoc in Bird Island in the sequel, as he unleashed an army of crabs unto the island and popped balloons with a mere sunlight through glass.
  • While Zeta has a higher attempted body count than he does, Leonard still stands out since he has less resources than her and has the unique crime of attempted mass infanticide.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is played for laughs tons of times, such as daydreaming about having the eggs while "(They Long to Be) Close to You" plays.
  • He is shown to have some care for his kingdom, planning to share the eggs with them and being angered when the birds began causing havoc in it and trying to put a stop to it.
    • This is further proven in the sequel where he tries to save it from Zeta despite having the pigs to do the job instead.
  • He ends up redeeming himself in the sequel where he teams up with Red to save both Piggy Island and Bird Island, forming a truce between them and once they've succeeded, he never tries to antagonize them again.
