King Kong is a major antagonist in the first 100 episodes of Monster Island Buddies, serving as the main antagonist of Seasons 3 and 6, and the secondary antagonist of Season 4. He is the arch enemy of Godzilla who seeks to have a rematch with him and take his place as the true king of the monsters.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Prior to the series, he kidnapped Gorosaurus and kept him as a slave for several years on skull island. During those years, he would constantly abuse him, even going so far as to have his robot Mechani-Kong beat the dinosaur up anytime he tried to escape.
- Upon learning that Godzilla had left monster island after Rodan had died, he immediately attempted to conquer it.
- Upon noticing that Minilla was taping him with his Baragon as he was discussing his plan to take over Monster Island, he immediately began chasing after him.
- As him and Baragon were cornering Minilla, he briefly suggested eating him.
- Stole Minilla’s camera and later showed footage of a drunk Godzilla and Mothra (who was Rodan’s crush) having sex to Rodan in order to enrage him. Because of this, Rodan later went on to attack Godzilla fit of rage and accidentally kill Mothra (albeit temporarily). In this fight, Rodan also accidentally transferred his energy (that he gained from Mecha-King Ghidorah and the nuclear bomb that was attached to him when he collided with him) directly into Godzilla’s body, causing him to go into meltdown mode and later die temporarily in episode 50.
- When asked about it in a interview on Monsters in the afternoon, Kong smugly admitted to being entirely responsible for Godzilla’s upcoming demise, with him sadistic gloating that because of him, Godzilla was dying a “slow, gruesome, radioactive death”.
- In a attempt to spite him, he briefly began dating Godzilla’s ex-wife Jirass.
- Successfully tricked Gorosaurus into breaking the truce between the Ghidorah’s and the Devine moths by having him attack Gigan who was with the Ghidorah’s and making him think he would leave him alone if he did. Because of this, he’s responsible for the creation of a bad future timeline (that was eventually undone by a future Godzilla) in which most of the the good monsters (Rodan, Jet Jaguar, Anguirus, Minilla, Little Godzilla, Baby Godzilla, Gorosaurus, Baragon, King Caesar, Zilla, Mechagodzilla, Jirass, Moguera, Manda, and possibly other minor characters like Sanda, Gaira, and the Mutos) were wiped out by the Ghidorah’s and General Gigan and the Ghidorah’s won the war and conquered Earth.
- Additionally, he’s also responsible all the bad things that happened during the good timeline (in which Mothra came back from space thanks to Future Godzilla and present Battra and Rodan and helped tired the tide in the good monsters favor) such as President Obama attempting to wipe out the good and bad monsters with the payday bomb, Godzilla’s stepson Zilla dying of asthma attack mid battle in attempt to prove himself a fighter, the good monsters nearly getting executed by the Ghidorah’s, Cthullu rising to power and causing the apocalypse as a result of being empowered by the chaotic toll of the war.
- It should be noted that instigating the war to get Godzilla and his friends killed was all part of his plan so that way he could become the new king of the monsters.

- When Jirass brought up the fact that Minilla was was in the battlefield and was in danger of being killed, Kong revealed that he was using her too before smugly telling her to go save him himself.
- Overall, Kong is shown to be a spiteful and petty coward who is perfectly willing to manipulate others for his own gain, ruin Godzilla’s life, and endanger all the lives of all the monsters on Monster island and everyone on Earth, in order to become the new king of the monsters.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Like most of the villains, he has way too many comedic moments that detract from his heinousness and change the tone of his actions, with him often being subjected to comedic and often times anti-climactic defeats such as Godzilla easily defeating him tripping him with his tail and shooting him with his atomic breath in episode 32 and him getting very easily killed by Gorosaurus before Gorosaurus casually asking Godzilla, Rodan, and Jet Jaguar if this meant he was their friend. In addition to this, there’s also an episode in which he fails to impress Jirass in bed and is ridiculed for having a small penis.
- Even his abuse of Gorosaurus, while cruel isn’t portrayed all that seriously and rather than it being played for drama it is non the less instead played for comedy more often than not.
