Keiji Mogami is the secondary antagonist of the manga and anime series, Mob Psycho 100.

He is an esper who chose to become a vengeful spirit and rid the world of corrupt individuals. He eventually encountered Mob, who he attempted to manipulate into joining his cause, but was eventually defeated by him.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • When he was in high school, he became an assassin who used his power to kill people by placing curses on them.
  • He prepared to absorb Dimple's spiritual energy even after Dimple had surrendered and was asking for mercy.
  • Keiji took possession of Minori Asagiri, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, in order to lure multiple psychics who'd attempt to exorcise him.
  • He intended to kill all of the psychics who'd been hired to exorcise them just because he believed they were all frauds. Even if the hired psychics may not have had any powers, they still hadn't committed any real crimes, making Keiji's reasoning completely unjustified.
  • Keiji brutally beat several of the psychics and even strangled Reigen. Then, when Minori's father embraced his daughter to try and bring her back to her senses, Mogami stabbed him for no real reason.
  • When Keiji was restrained by Mob's telekinesis, he began twisting the joints of Minori's body to force Mob to release him, sadistically laughing at the other psychics while doing this, which disgusted Mob.
  • When Mob enters Minori's body to force Keiji out from the inside, he places Mob in a mental world where he has no powers, friends, or family and is constantly bullied by Minori. He continues this psychological torture for six months, and nearly succeeds in breaking Mob and turning him into a killer if not for Dimple's intervention.
  • After Mob refuses to follow Keiji's path of vengeance, he attacks Mob with his army of evil spirits.
  • Upon being released from Matsuo's container, he absorbs the life force of the members of Claw and nearly squeezes Minegishi, one of the Ultimate 5, to death, though considering they were all part of a terrorist organization who'd taken over spice City, Keiji's actions aren't entirely unjustified.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • In his youth, Keiji originally used his powers to help others, exorcising evil spirits, performing seances, and giving people advice, which led him to being called the Greatest Psychic of the 20th century. In fact, Keiji is one of the few professional espers shown in the series who was ever genuinely altruistic.
  • He has a very tragic backstory, as his mother became gravely ill when he was in high school, forcing him to become an assassin in order to pay for her hospital bills, something which he felt incredibly guilty over. Despite everything he did, his mother still died anyway, and she came back as an evil spirit, revealing to him that he was responsible for her death due to the negative energy he'd accumulated from being used by others and becoming an assassin.
  • After becoming an evil spirit, he used his powers to target and eliminate the corrupt people of the world who used others as tools, such as sex traffickers, drug dealers, and corrupt leaders. This shows he has his own sense of justice and morals, making him somewhat of an anti-hero, and his actions could have had a positive impact on the world.
  • When he meets Mob, he sympathizes with him due to his incredible psychic power and meek demeanor, traits that he possessed when he was younger. The reason he put Mob in the mental mindscape was so Mob wouldn't end up going down the same path he once did, demonstrating a twisted sense of compassion.
  • When he's defeated by Mob, he accepts it and states his intention to keep watching Mob from afar to see if he made the right decision, showing an increased sense of respect and compassion for him.
  • Keiji decides to spare Minegishi's life after being convinced by Mob that he could change and become better, imparting some words of wisdom to the young esper before leaving.
