I'm good at something...I'm good at being bad!
~ Jestro.
Okay? Okay?! Oh, I'm worse than okay! I'm terrible! The evil in me...like, like electricity. I wanna scorch every end of this land from top to bottom! You wanna me bad again? I'm thinking I'm bad again!
~ Jestro after having been brainwashed by Monstrox.

Jestro is the secondary antagonist of the LEGO Nexo Knights series. He used to be the jester at King Halbert's court, but after he got fed up with everyone laughing at him, he took up the Book of Monsters' offer of an alliance in hopes of becoming feared instead of laughed at, unaware that the book was using him as a pawn.

He was voiced by Vincent Tong.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

Seasons 1-2[]

  • He teamed up with the Book of Monsters in order to get revenge at those who laughed at him, released several Lava Monsters trapped inside him and let them attack Clay, who was his only friend at that point.
  • He continued to serve the Book of Monsters, searching for more evil books and feeding them to him, granting the villain more power, and raiding multiple towns, at times for no reason.
  • He attacked Waterton, planning to cause a water shortage across the kingdom with this act.
  • He attacked the royal couple and investors on their tour across Knighton.
  • He released Whiparella and let her trap the Nexo Knights with their worst fears.
  • He fed the Book of Monsters The Golden Castle script, letting him spawn more Lava Monsters to attack Holowood.
  • He attacked Diggington to cause a distraction and escape with the real Book of Deception.
  • He tricked the Nexo Knights into splitting up, thus allowing his monsters to capture them easily and mount an assault on the capital city.
  • He raided the Knights' Academy to steal what was later revealed to be Monstrox's old castle.
  • He had his monsters raid Auremville for riches, and they ended up taking Lance's parents hostage. While this wasn't part of Jestro's plan, he still held them prisoner and only freed them and returned the stolen riches because the Book of Monsters told him to.
  • He and the Book attacked the Joustdome during the celebration of King Halbert's birthday.
  • He and the Book of Monsters sent Moltor and Lavaria to win the ultimate chili recipe in hopes of making monsters even more dangerous.
  • He raided the Exalted Towers resort for the Book of Cruelty.
  • He attacked Cleanington while the Nexo Knights were sick with the disease the Book passed onto them, knowing they would be vulnerable and too weak to fight.
  • He initially went along with Monstrox's plan to trick the people of Funnyton into becoming part of their army, but eventually went back on this scheme and ended up betraying the villain.

Seasons 3-4[]

  • After getting turned evil again by the Cloud of Monstrox, he supported him in his quest to awaken the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction and destroy Knighton.
    • While it should be noted that Monstrox was the one to have released the Forbidden Powers, Jestro was the one capable of using them to cause mayhem and awaken the Colossus, and he did it while aware of the consequences of his actions and expressed sadistic joy at their result. Additionally, since he's deluded himself into believing he is either Monstrox's equal or superior instead of servant, his crimes aren't merely an extension of Monstrox's.
  • While he initially sympathized with Roberto Arnoldi over his backstory, he eventually subverted it and mistreated him just as much as Monstrox did, even threatening to bury him under a mountain.
  • When he got hold of the Forbidden Power of Ravaging Rot, he used it to rot away food in multiple towns and had plans to starve Knighton's people to the point where they would beg him for mercy, which he wouldn't have on them.
  • He enslaved the people of Diggington, including Axl's parents, to mine out the Three Brothers.
  • He destroyed several of his own Stone Monsters while trying to figure out what Collapsing Crumble did, and while he wasn't happy with them being destroyed, he showed no remorse about killing them either.
  • He attacked Lava Monsters' town to retrieve the Rogul and the power of Blazing Burn.
  • He attacked the Fortrex and kept attacking it even after realizing that the Nexo Knights weren't inside and it was instead filled with children.
  • He attacked Rockstead and destroyed many houses there to make monsters out of their remains.
  • He robbed the bank in Stinking Rich and Happy Hill to pay Jorah Tightwad for Krakenskull's army, and his words imply that he stole most or all the gold the town had.
  • After Krakenskull's army failed to stop the Nexo Knights, he and Monstrox turned all of the gold in Jorah's vault into lead. While Jorah deserved this for siding with them in the first place, this also means that the people of Stinking Rich and Happy Hill will never get their gold back.
  • He awakened the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction, letting Monstrox possess it, and followed the villain as he laid waste to Knighton.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is genuinely tragic, as he lived on the streets as an orphan for a long time, and couldn't find anything he was good at to do for living, forcing him to become a laughing stock for everyone, and he's often subjected to abuse by Monstrox while acting as his enforcer.
  • He is constantly played for laughs like being mistaken as a cosplayer at a convention or feeding The Book multiple books of Deception because there were too many, and most of his crimes aren't taken seriously,
  • Even after becoming a villain, he possesses some care for people who were nice to him, to the point where he hesitated to raid Knightonia to kill the king until Monstrox used dark magic on him.
  • He redeemed himself in Season 2 and even helped the Nexo Knights defeat Monstrox. He only became a villain again in Season 3 due to Monstrox brainwashing him, and feels shame for his actions after the brainwashing is lifted.
  • Dark magic and brainwashing give him moral agency issues, as he simply cannot choose to be anything but evil while under their influence.

Trivia[]

  • Jestro and Monstrox are the only two Nexo Knights villains to be Inconsistently Heinous.
  • It's unknown if Jestro's Inconsistently Heinous status would change had Season 5 of the series been produced. While promotional material and some of Tommy Andreasen's statements imply that he would remain a hero throughout it, Andreasen also stated that Jestro would go back to serving Monstrox at some point in Seasons 5-6.
