The UFO, or Jean Jacket (scientific name: Occulonimbus Edoequus) is the main antagonist of Jordan Peele's 2022 sci-fi horror western film Nope.
Rather than an alien spaceship piloted by alien pilots, it is the UFO itself, and is revealed to be an extraterrestrial, territorial, predatory creature which is covered by a hard scale like plating. Its true form looks like an angelic jellyfish like creature.

What Makes it Heinous?[]
- It devoured an unconfirmed number of hikers in the Californian area, and it's revealed later that when devoured, it slowly digests them for hours.
- It inadvertently killed OJ and Emerald's father, Otis Sr., by spitting out a nickel, which sent it lodged into his eye and killed him.
- It ate several of the Haywood's horses that were fed to it by Rick "Jupe" Park in an attempt to tame it, while he did not know that Jean Jacket is not a spaceship.
- In its anger, devoured the Star Lasso Experience Guests, including Ricky himself, his wife and kids, and 40 other guests and staff, which included a bunch of children.
- Later devoured a TMZ reporter because it is looking at it and his helmet mirrors its reflection, while to be fair, it wasn't sympathetic since he was kind of a selfish jerk and was rude to Emerald, calling her a nobody even when she warned him no to get in danger.
- It later devoured Antlers Holst due to him recording it and that he was looking at it. Later attempted to devour both Em and Angel but both survived. Later attempted to intimidate OJ while revealing its true form.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- It has moral agency issues due to the fact that it is an animalistic predator, while it may not be stupid, it is not entirely sapient, since it acts out of pure instinct.
Trivia[]
- Janet Jacket, alongside Red/Adelaide Thomas, is one of the two villains from Jordan Peele films to be Inconsistently Heinous.
- It is the only Inconsistently Heinous from the Jordan Peele films to be an extraterrestrial animal, rather than a person.
