J.P Goppernopper is the main antagonist of the 2010 graphic novel The Adventures of Ook and Gluk: Kung-Fu Cavemen from the Future.

He is the 23rd-century descendant of Chief Goppernopper, the short-tempered ruler of Cave-land, Ohio during a period of prehistory, who is the CEO of Goppernopper Industries.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Because all of the Earth's natural resources have been used up by around his time, J. P. created a time machine that enables him and his men to steal resources from the past so they can sell them with expensive prices in the present, such as wooden logs or fresh water. This can be seen by many as something too risky, considering that altering the past affects the future, as shown many times in the CU books, but he doesn't care and even prides himself for being the leader of the evilest company in the world, with his ancestor congratulating him for doing something so irresponsible and reckless. He has even some officers for pollution, thefts and tortures.
  • Behaves like a jerk to his employees for mistaking his name much like his ancestor instead of gently correcting them like most bosses should do.
  • Isn't above killing, as he mentions that with his time machine, he can "crush" whoever gets in his way.
  • Comes across his ancestor (whom he refers to as "grandfather") and takes Chief Goppernopper to the present day, hiring him so they can steal all trees, petroleum and water from the past.
  • Accepts Chief Goppernopper's proposal to enslave all of Caveland's population, sending him with his robotic dinosaurs to the past and bring the cavemen to the present, so they can be enslaved as "property" of Goppernopper Enterprises for the rest of their lives.
  • Meets our titular protagonists Ook and Gluk, who annoyed his ancestor, and happily accepts his ancestor's suggestion to have the two boys tested for torture experiments in his headquarters, in the most painful torture device ever invented which involve a pair of scissors, a hammer, a corkscrew and a razor. He even mentions that the torture center of his company is trademarked, which may imply that this device has been used on others before and it's accessible to the public.
  • Sends his ancestor's henchmen, armed with laser guns of his creation, after Ook, Gluk and their pet dinosaur Lily, resulting in the two dimwits nearly killing the three fugitives if how they zapped some advertisements is any indication.
  • Over the seven following years as Ook and Gluk train under Master Wong's kung-fu guidance, Goppernopper Enterprises takes over the past by building polluting factories in prehistory, forcing the cavemen to dig dirt all day while being checked by armed guards.
  • Dispatches killer robots after Ook and Gluk, now grown up, as they return to save their friends and families from the Goppernoppers, resulting in the two robots beating up the two cavemen fighters and breaking Ook's tooth again (he had previously lost it back when he was three by falling over a waterfall with Gluk).
  • Grabs Lily by her tail for destroying his robots by making them slip on her vomit, likely intending to harm her for that.
  • Supplies his ancestor with robotic dinosaurs, whom he later uses in an attempt to have Ook, Gluk and Lily killed.
  • Captures Mr. Wong and his daughter Lan upon finding out that they were the ones who taught Ook and Gluk their martial arts, has them tied up to a pole and threatens Ook and Gluk to execute them if they don't return from 499,994 BC to 2229 AC and give up after sending Chief Goppernopper and his company's workers back to the present.
  • Decides to pulverize the Wongs unless Ook, Gluk and Lily cuff themselves to the pole, and then decides to go back on his word and kill all of them.
  • Gets into a violent fight with his ancestor when Ook and Gluk trick them into debating who is the most important man in the world (Mr. Wong taught them that he is no one due to the real greatness being anonymous), mocking Chief Goppernopper for not being attractive among other things in spite of them being distant relatives.
  • Pulverizes Chief Goppernopper alive with his laser gun even though he just beat him up and was fine with leaving him alone after that. Predictably, this backfires horribly on him, as killing his ancestor before he fathered any children means that all his family line never existed, erasing all his future descendants from existence, J. P. included. Though this is shown as a good thing due to how much damage the Goppernoppers, it's unknown if all of Chief Goppernopper's descendants were bad as him and J. P., which could mean that some innocent Goppernoppers faded away from existence unfairly.
  • As seen when Goppernopper Enterprises fades away due to never existing, the moody present is replaced by a brighter one with trees, water and everyone living happy with peace, showing how much J. P. ruined the world until getting himself erased from existence. Even though he disappears into nothingness, he more than deserved it and no one shows sympathy for his undoing.
  • While the Heinous Standards of the Captain Underpants books are jacked-up, J. P. Goppernopper belongs to an in-universe graphic novel so his setting can count like one with different standards: not to mention that all silliness and comedy aside, most of the J. P. Goppernopper's actions are played seriously with how screwed up the Earth was before his erasure from existence, how he openly expresses his intentions to kill his enemies and how homicidal he was, more than his ancestor. Easily one of Dav Pilkey's darkest villains.

Who Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Due to how comical the book is in a similar light to the Captain Underpants books, he isn't taken seriously enough to be PE or NPE. Though this is a minor prevention considering that he isn't as funny as his ancestor.
  • Has a few comedic moments that are too detracting of his villainy, like when Lily throws up inside his mouth as he threatened her or when he starts fighting his ancestor and it's revealed that he uses a toupee.
  • May have cared for some of his robots, as he tried to kill Mr. Wong and his daughter Lan to get back at Ook and Gluk for destroying "what he loved".
