“ | Of all history's monsters, you are by far the most evil thing I've encountered. Offer your soul to me dark one! | „ |
~ Hunson to Gunter |
Hunson Abadeer also known as The Lord Of Evil is a major antagonist in the 2010 science fantasy cartoon series Adventure Time, he's Marceline's dad and the ruler of The Nightosphere that made his debut in Season's 2 first episode, "It Came From Nightosphere"
He was voiced by Martin Olson.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- In general, he rules The Nightosphere with an iron fist and keeps it in a state of perpetual chaos. He also spends most of his time absorbing the souls of the residents of Ooo.
- He's a neglectful parent to his daughter Marceline, not even bothering to take care of her when she was just a little girl. If it hadn't been for Simon Petrikov, she could've been in great danger.
- And as the Vampireworld shown in Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake reveals, this could've also lead to Marceline being taken and raised by the Vampire King, which would've resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocents.
- He once visited Marceline to just eat her fries. While this may seem insignificant on paper, considering how scarce food was in Ooo, those fries were a delicacy that Marceline scarcely got to enjoy, causing Marceline to believe her father didn't care about her physical and emotional wellbeing.
- After being released from The Nightosphere by Finn The Human, he immediately attempted to steal his soul, even though Finn was a child by that time and was also the one who summoned him in the first place.
- Later in the episode, he proceeds to go on a spree of sucking the souls of the residents of Ooo, stealing the souls of hundreds of innocents and leaving their bodies as an empty husk in a vegetative state, leaving them in a fate worse than death.
- He tricked his own daughter Marceline to be brainwashed by the Nightosphere amulet in order to continue the family business so he can retire, this makes him directly responsible for the death and torture of dozens of demons that Marceline caused while using the amulet.
- He also didn't care about this, and while all of this happened he decided to make a sandwich for himself, letting Marceline continue with her tyranny.
- This also caused Finn to wear the Nightosphere amulet for a brief moment, forcing him to become The Lord Of Evil for a short amount of time. Even after Finn was free from the amulet, he still seemed to be in deep shock.
- Despite the series having very high Heinous Standards, he manages to stand out due to the uniqueness of his crimes in the series, and almost no one gets close to this aside from the Fight King and New Death. Even so, Hunson has stolen the souls of hundreds and leaves their bodies and souls in eternal suffering, while The Fight King and New Death only leave the souls in a similar state.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's affable towards Finn and Jake, treating them with some degree of respect and also being nice to them most of the time.
- He genuinely cares about his daughter, even going to the extent of apologizing for hurting her feelings and trying to protect her from ghosts who were disrespecting her . He also supports her in her career as musician and feels proud of her.
- He saved Finn from The Nightosphere Amulet, despite him not getting any benefit from doing so.
- He's played for laughs too much to be NPE or PE.
- For example after re-entering in Marceline's life he makes a hole in the young Marceline's hut with the family battle axe and announces that he was summoned by "some goober with glasses" and that he and Marceline should "go suck some souls" together before destroying an entire wall of the hut with a kick, him eating Marceline's fries, the moment when he apologizes to Marceline while saying the fries he ate were cold, the reveal of him being the one behind Marceline being corrupted by The Nightosphere Amulet while he was preparing himself a sandwich, him spitting his milk after seeing Finn possesed by the amulete, him looking ashamed at Marceline for tricking her into becoming the new Lord Of Evil and his entire appearance during "Marcy & Hunson".
- He made a positive impression on Princess Bubblegum when they met at a pizza place.
