Hoshino is a character from Ranpo Kitan, is a student in Hashiba and Kobayashi class. She is the one who dismembered Kobayashi's teacher. Hoshino along with the homeroom teacher is one of the two initial villains of Ranpo Kitan Game of Laplace.

She was voiced by Sayuri Yahagi in Japanese, while her voice was provided by Alexis Tipton in the English dub (who also voiced Queen Victoria when she was a child and Kurumi Tokisaki).

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

  • She is the initial villain of the series setting the heinous standards.
  • She was aware that her teacher who she was madly in love with was grooming female students and creating a death cult where female middle schoolers would commit suicide to turn themselves into human chairs for him as part of a loyalty test but decided not to do anything about it simply because she was obsessed with her teacher.
  • It is heavily implied she assisted her homeroom teacher in desecrating the bodies of the girls he drove to suicide by dismembering them and turning them into human chairs.
  • When she was rejected by her teacher and later caught him sexually harassing Kobayashi, she dismembered her homeroom teacher and turned his corpse into a human chair in an act of jealousy and drugged Kobayashi unconscious before attempting to frame him.
  • To make matters worse, it is implied that had she succeeded Kobayashi would have been executed.
  • Although her teacher was bad due to creating a hebephilic death cult involving middle school girls she still went too far and killed him for the wrong reason.
  • Her murder traumatized Hashiba as well as likely the rest of her classmates.
  • While she does feel bad about committing homicide and attempted incrimination, she still had no regrets about turning a blind eye to her teacher’s abuse of power as well potentially committing desecration of the dead.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She is somewhat tragic as she was groomed by her homeroom teacher and developed a form of Stockholm syndrome but after he lost interest in her she felt betrayed and attempted suicide.
  • She is played sympathetically towards the end for her character arc as when Kobayashi thanks her for helping him discover his passion for solving mysteries rather than being angry at her, she confesses and breaks down in tears due to remorse.
  • She is extremely remorseful for the murder she had done, apologizing to Kobayashi, even going as far as claiming that she still loved her teacher.
  • She is WAY too affable to be NPE as when Kobayashi confronted her rather then trying to vindicate herself she told Kobayashi that he should be free to hate her, however, when she was forgiven by Kobayashi she turned her self in to be arrested (and likely sentenced to life in prison) just to clear Kobayashi’s name, this also means that she developed respect for Kobayashi.
  • Is slightly honourable due to keeping her promise with Kobayashi to confess to her crimes.
