Homer Jay Simpson is the main protagonist of "Reaper Madness", the first segment of The Simpsons Halloween special "Treehouse of Horror XIV".

He kills the Grim Reaper and takes over his job. He kills dozens of people before quitting by killing Patty instead of killing Marge.

Like his original version, he was voiced by Dan Castellaneta.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • When the Grim Reaper was about to kill Bart, Homer killed the Grim Reaper in revenge for the Reaper killing Snowball I and JFK, creating a world where no one could die.
  • After becoming the next Death, he killed Jasper Beardsley at the retirement home, but he was on the list.
  • When Lisa showed Homer was the Death at the "My Dad's Job" day, Homer killed a homeless man just to show he was really Death and presumably manipulated him into thinking he had something for the homeless man to eat.
  • After Bart got angry about his terrible seat at a baseball game, Homer killed dozens of innocent people who weren't on the list just to get to the Queen's seat and was about to kill the Queen as well before a baseball knocked her out.
  • When learning he had to kill Marge as his last victim, he cut off a piece of her hair and placed it on his own sister-in-law, Patty, before killing her in Marge's place in order to trick God.
  • While part of the reason he killed the original Grim Reaper was to avenge John F. Kennedy's death, nothing indicated it was anything out of liking him as a president.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • True to Homer's nature, he's too comedic for NPE, with his worst acts being played for black comedy like when Death appeared at his front door, he said "Death? We don’t want any.", and even his mass murder of a baseball was filled with goofy yet dark one liner or a Three Stooges type of murder.
  • He loved his children and wife, as he took his son Bart out to a baseball game, attended a class project for his older daughter Lisa, and refused to kill his wife Marge when he was tasked to, killing Patty instead.
    • On top of that, the main reason he killed the original Grim Reaper was to save Bart from him.
    • He also cared about his dead cat, Snowball I, as part of why he killed the original Grim Reaper was to avenge her.
  • He was a Villain by Proxy, as the only reason he did his murders was because the robe forced him to.
