Bang!
~ Hiro Shishigami's signature and most famous quote.
DA! DA! DA! DA! DA!
~ Hiro's quote as he performs a rifle position and attack.
Are you worried that we went overboard? Afraid of the cops? No one... can possibly stop me now. The entire U.S. Army could come after you... and I'd still have your back...
~ Hiro to Ando after killing his bullies.

Hiro Shishigami is the main antagonist of the anime/manga series Inuyashiki. He is a teenage sociopath who was resurrected as an Enhanced android alongside the titular protagonist after being killed by a UFO out of nowhere.

Unlike Inuyashiki, he used his new powers to become a murderer looking for thrill and has targeted innocent families by picking random houses for his own amusement. His cruel acts of violence would progress into much serious lengths that condemn himself a dangerous criminal to society at this point. He was also the (former) archenemy of Ichiro Inuyashiki.

He was voiced by Nijirō Murakami.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • After becoming a cyborg, he becomes fond of killing innocent people and families, picking a house randomly to choose his next victims.
  • His first victims onscreen were a house family, killed a wife who was boiling the water, a father and son during their bath even as the former begged for Hiro to spare his child, and a daughter who just got back from school before taunting and killing her over a conversation of his favorite manga.
  • He demonstrates his powers to Chokko, it was going fine at first before it got darker for him to handle when the latter snapped his fingers to cause massive vehicle crashes that could've potentially killed dozens of people inside, including with the time he shot and killed Ando's bullies from the rooftop (although said bullies deserved it).
  • Killed another family, especially their dog and baby.
  • Killed two young boys playing around and that passed by him.
  • Killed the trolls and tormentors that exposed his identity to the public and made his mother commit suicide. Although the people he killed deserved it for what they did to his mother and having to avenge her, in doing so, this only furthers his misanthropy.
  • Killed numerous reporters and the entire press that was standing before his father's home.
  • Killed the Police and SWAT Forces during the scene at the Police Station just so there would be no one to stand in his way.
  • He mercilessly killed up to an exact total of a hundred innocent citizens across Shinjuku through the city's smartphones and screens such as the buildings and TVs.
  • Caused dozens of planes to crash land in the city which killed more than hundreds of passengers on board, if not, thousands of them as he proclaimed since his previous massacre in Shinjuku as promised. This potentially even led to more casualties as the plane crashes caused mass destruction across the city.
  • Attempting to kill Ichiro Inuyashiki in their showdown after ranting over the realization that he is the "villain" in his breakdown, despite knowing that he was trying to go save his daughter at the time.
  • Despite being mechanically modified into being a cyborg after death, he still possesses full control over his actions as it was stated his conscience after having to die from the crashing UFO was transferred into a modified version of himself but still chooses to do so because he wants to have "fun". Thus it clarifies his Moral Agency.
  • Even if he kills people just to feel his human emotions after becoming a cyborg, he wholeheartedly admitted that he still took great joy over the deaths he caused, as well as expressing no remorse in doing so.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is very tragic, as his parents divorced when he was young, causing him to rarely see his father and only live with his mother in a small department. His background also got him bullied by others at school.
  • He is insecure about his identity as a cyborg, crying about his modifications and realising that he's the villain with Inuyashiki's presence, which is played for sympathy.
    • He is genuinely distraught when fighting against Inuyashiki near the end of the series, wondering how he and Ichiro could be so different from each other.
  • He genuinely cared about the few loved ones in his life.
    • For his mother, he was very close to her and was devastated that she had cancer before he heals her, but the most tragic event that hit him on becoming more worse was when she committed suicide after his crimes were exposed.
    • For Shion, she and her grandmother were the only people who cared and gave genuine concern, as well as kindness for him. At first, he tried to kill them both but later thinks of them as the only "family" he has left and swore to protect them. Even when trying to treat Shion and her grandma into moving away from Japan to other countries and supporting them, he still never considers her feelings and opinions to his actions, so his relationship with her can be considered toxic despite caring for her since she reminds him of his mother. For all his faults, she was one of two people Shishigami said he wouldn’t want to die from the asteroid.
    • He respected and cared for his friend Ando, amicably parting ways with him when Ando stated that he did not want to be associated with a murderer. In addition, he protected him from one of his bullies by breaking one of the leader's wrists. He was even one of the people Shishigami said he wanted to protect from the asteroid despite their friendship ending. He also frequently referred to him by his nickname, Chokko.
    • Although he didn’t interact with his father much, Hiro seemed to be on good terms when he went to his dad’s second family and didn’t kill him when the reporters asked him questions. He also is shown celebrating his younger half-brother's birthday party and then happily watching a movie with him and the rest of the family.
  • He feels genuine remorse for his crimes due to showing sadness at how far he's fallen from grace and even attempts to redeem himself by briefly quitting his crimes when his mother saw his killings on the news and said that the perpetrator should go to hell. He only resumed his villainy when the police attacked his house and his mother died. This remorse and change in his behavior at the request of loved ones is the biggest factor in why he is too inconsistent to be Near Pure Evil.
  • He commits a few heroic and selfless actions that are significant enough to make him on-and-off:
    • At the request of his girlfriend Shion, he chose to heal dozens of people to atone for his kills.
    • He sacrifices himself to help Ichiro save the planet from a meteor, with him crying moments before that when he realizes what he has to do upon seeing Shion.
