Henry Masterson, also known as Headmaster, is a supporting antagonist of Transformers: Animated. He is a brilliant yet insane goth-looking scientist who used the Headmaster unit to take control of the robots by replacing their heads.

He is voiced by Alexander Polinsky.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • After getting fired by Professor Sumdac for his presentation of Headmaster units and almost destroying Detroit, Masterson seeks revenge by ruining his company.
  • Masterson knocked Bulkhead unconscious with his Headmaster unit to take control his body, while before heading to Detroit Solar Fusion Power Plant and attacked there. He then hacked the local television broadcast and threaten to overload the nuclear reactor and destroy the state of Michigan if Professor Sumdac didn't deliver him 700 billion dollars to him.
  • When the Autobots, the Sumdacs and the others have arrived for the deal, Masterson still intends to destroy the city anyway.
  • After getting hired by Porter C. Powell, who took over Sumdac's company later on, Masterson assists him in making profitable yet dangerous robots that Sumdac had ignored in the past, such as military robots, Headmaster units and more.
  • Seeking to use Sentinel Prime's body since the Autobot crew would not cut it, he faked a Decepticon sighting at Detroit to Captain Fanzone, distracting him before taking Sentinel's body and fighting Optimus and Sentinel, only to lose yet again.
  • After getting fired once again by Sumdac, he stole Starscream's body and then intends to get revenge on his enemies, starting by defeating Bulkhead.
  • He attempted to kill Professor Sumdac and his daughter Sari during the chase.
  • While the series' Heinous Standards are pretty high, having many Decepticons and other human villains to compete with, including Meltdown, Headmaster stands out on his own for having lesser resources than both sides, and attempted to destroy an entire state with an overloaded nuclear reactor. Also, his ability of cutting off Transformer's head using the HeadMaster unit, while they remain still alive and having some awareness on what is happening in their bodies is pretty horrific.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is ultimately too comedic to be PE or NPE. Similar to the human villains of the series, Headmaster is the butt of many characters' jokes. When Masterson uses his units, characters would just crack jokes at the disembodied heads at a very regular basis, Bulkhead especially whose entire situation had Bumblebee making constant puns.
